Are we sure the OP is not confusing PATRUL with PACHUNG?
Drikungpas were well and active in the mid to late 1800's.

Re: Learning names of the mudras (Nyingma) - can you help me name them?
Lineage differences. Heck, even monestsry to monestsry differences in lineages. Also I've never learned any names for mudras. Maybe out of 100 mudras, 5 names. Just "this is the mudra" for offering A, this is the mudra for offering B... Etc. One would get the tri for the practice and learn...

Re: How to recite mantra loudly continuously (also during inhalation)?
If you do mantra at the low whispered level then a certain type of vajra recitation can be practiced, with the inhale and exhale being applied with verbalized mantra. I've never heard of someone who can speak with a normal conversational volume both on the exhale and inhale of their breath. Can't se...

Re: Authentic Dzogchen teachers Europe
Many anuyoga sadhanas have no re-arising as the deity. For example, one disoloves the mandala into the five wisdom lights. Or, one arises instantly as the deity but then there is nothing done at the end, only a verse that explains the ultimate meaning of the three kayas. Or, it might say "maint...

Re: Trul-khor in Europe - any teachers teaching?
Just clarify I wrote theresponses below, not Sādhaka The kumbhaka approach in kagyu ( drikung caveat here ) is much more extreme. All the trulkhors are done during the hold of the kumbhaka phase. This is the same for the Namchö lineage trulkhor I do. All the trulkhors (there are 3 series in theory, ...

Re: Trul-khor in Europe - any teachers teaching?
It looks like you’re a student of ChNNR. You could contact Fabio Andrico in Italy. The Vairo khrul-khor should have everything you need, and Fabio has a nice Kumbhaka course that you can get from the Dzogchen Community. I mean I’d like to study and practice multiple khrul-khors myself; however if y...

Re: Was karmamudra part of ganachakra in the ancient India?
After reading this post over morning coffee, here is a serious question. This really applies to those of you / us who have been around the vajrayana world for some time. If you have had the higher empowerments, received some teachings on karmamudra in any form, made a sexual connection with a partn...

Re: Was karmamudra part of ganachakra in the ancient India?
I wasn't around then, but is pretty apparent that at least in India it was practiced that way. I'm sure the ngakpa traditions held to that as well.

Never had this cycle, but it seems to be that. The entire cycle would be a lot of empowerments.

Tagdrol Empowerment from the Gongpa Zangthal cycle. It surely has all the requirements to practice the path of dzogchen. The tagdrol empowerment from the Lama Yangtik cycle is what I am familiar with, but I am sure it is very similar. It is a very condensed essence empowerment. Of course you will ne...

Re: Stagnant sanghas, teachers not teaching
The role of the Teacher is not just to transmit texts and comment on them. For that, YouTube, Zoom, etc. may be acceptable. However, IME, it's important to be with the Teacher as much as possible (as long as you don't get burnt in the process). As the Teacher really gets to know you, He or She can ...

I can give the example of outer, inner, and secret guru yogas in the Damcho Gongpa Yangzab cycle: The OUTER secret: This is the three roots practice of Guru Rinpoche,Hayagriva, Varahi. You can understand why it is the outer secret because it applies mahayoga methods. The INNER secret: Lama Tsewang ...

Re: Stagnant sanghas, teachers not teaching
Here is a good double edge sword example of growing a sangha with the younger generation: The current Kalu Yangsi is doing a good job at that. From those that have gone to his events that I know, he draws quite a few a lot of 20 to 30 year olds. Some might be kids of those who's parents were student...

Re: Stagnant sanghas, teachers not teaching
The whole Internet/Zoom Dharma phenomenon has been, IMO, a double-edged sword. Everyone now wants to know if a teaching is available on-line. I just don't believe a full Vajrayana training can happen entirely on-line no matter how many years it lasts. This is a big thing in my circle, the watering ...
