Re: What do you call this Longchen Nyingtik text that I have? (continued)
This is the text in the Khros ma sgrub skor 1 ff. (pp. 737-738) (v. 2, img. 281-282) of bdr:W1KG9609 Title: dag snang ye shes dra ba las: sngon 'gro'i ngag 'don shin tu bsdus pa Strangely enough the entry in BUDA as referenced above is missing 6 shlokas in the Guru Yoga section, namely : 1) The two...

Re: What do you call this Longchen Nyingtik text that I have?
At least, according to the Tibetan, the verses don't bear terma markings. Conventionally, this would mean composition, not terma revelation. Just saying.pemachophel wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:42 pm ... It was revealed as a mind treasure by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche at the request of Jetsun Pema Chodzin Sangngag Wangmo Rinpoche...

Re: What do you call this Longchen Nyingtik text that I have?
Sorry, Loppon, it is not the short Dudjom Tersar ngondro. It is a separate ngondro specifically composed by H.H. for Jetsun Pema Rinpoche and Her parents to teach to Westerners as They were getting ready to come to the U.S. in 1970. For all those who can read Tibetan: It's in 'jigs bral ye shes rdo...

Re: Certain Question on "laughter of the dakinis" practice
The actual Trekcho/Thogal portions do require the empowerment though, no? Within Thröma the whole story is a little bit trickier. The Chöd section (including the Ngöndro, the instructions on mind and Chöd) were all part of Düdjom Lingpa's initial vision of Saraha (written down as the root text of t...

Re: Certain Question on "laughter of the dakinis" practice
On that note, isn't Dudjom Throma also based on Dzogchen? But yet it has its own empowerment.....What's the made difference between that and Longchen Nyingthig chod? One could probably say that the Laughter of the Dakinis in Longchen Nyingthig is a stand-alone practice, whereas within Düdjom Tersar...

I have a lot of MS Word files (about 45 MB) whose contents look like this: ... I can't really remember now where I got them, and haven't refound them through Googling. Re: Tergar Online Issues
Some insight from the IT world: There is a strong (albeit deplorable) tendency that more and more web sites only optimize there code with respect to the Google Chrome browser. So if a certain web site does not work as expected it might just be that you do not use Google Chrome. Shame on them, but fr...

Re: How to not destroy lower back with prostrations
In my experience, the crucial key point is to stick to the vertical line of gravity to the best one can. That implies to optimize all movements that would produce leverage on the lower back - i.e. bending forward in an oblique angle from the hip region. I would try to get my hands to the floor with ...

Re: IS it possible to have 2 yidams?
IS it possible to have 2 yidams? Every time you take any empowerment or initiation, you are making a promise to hold that deity as your yidam. Hence you can have hundreds, there is no limit. The key of course is to practice all yidams in one yidam, all mantras in one mantra, etc. There's the famous...

düdjom khandro nyingthig? Not an earth terma. could you elaborate? because rigpawiki entry lists KN as an earth terma, with quotes from terton's own autobiography: "...I have a sater (earth-treasure) cycle of revelation called Zabsang Khandro Nyingtik... ...I received the prophetic lists for t...

Nyingmapa equivalent of Gampopa's Jewel Ornament?
Hi everybody, I wonder whether there is a good, easy to read and apply classical text of introduction to the sutra stage of practice (i.e. the first three of the nine yanas) in the Nyingmapa realm. Though of course every commentary to ngöndro (e.g. Patrul’s Words of my Perfect Teacher or Düdjom Jigd...

"Zabmo Nangdon" means something like "The Profound Inner Meaning." It's a text written by the 3rd Karmapa, Rangjung Dorje, and it lays out the underpinnings of the Vajrayana view, according to the Karma Kagyu. It's one of three major texts that is studied to learn about the basi...

Re: Dudjom Tröma Nagmo ngondro
In this Dudjom lineage, as I understand it, many historically would jump right into Troma ngondro as their starting point, and go through the entire Troma path as their sole focus. I’m not sure if that’s still the case in the regions such as Humla, Nepal where the large gompas are where it’s still ...
Re: Vasectomy
But my concern is whether a surgery like this would be damaging to practice of Secret Mantra in general, and Dzogchen in particular. What say you, Malcolm, and others?
