Re: first practice ngondro in a gelug tradition
In this period i have a lot of time and for this reason i like do a lot of practice. I like very much mahakala . I feel a good connection with him.
I find in the web this mahakala six arms mantra " Om benza nara trim trim hung hung phet phet soha". Is it ok without initiation?

Re: Bhairava in Buddhism?
deiteis are archetips of the mind. in hinduism the deities appears in a mundane forms like devas (not illuminated...they can give material benefits and moksha/liberation but not illumination). I think, in buddhism we find a lot of hindu deties but transformeted in a superior form, in their illuminat...

Re: Is Buddhist cosmology essentially Vedic?
I think Rakshasa and Indrajana have reason. I think like them about this question. Hinduism isn't the born religion of Siddharta...Hinduism is more recent and it is a synthesis. At that time in India there were the vedic religion with his brahminical system and the rest of dravidic religion like the...

tibetan language for the prayer
namastè,
what Dalai Lama, or gelug lineage, suggests about the prayer language? It is better in own language (for the meaning) or in tibetan language (the traditional)?
Thanks

Re: Hindu Deities in the Shurangama Mantra.
i think rakshasa has right. induism don't talk about the empirical story, there is a lot of mithology mixed with the truth and the real facts and it makes confusion. I think bhagavad gita and purana are the answer to the buddha dharma (brahmins didn't want lose the cast system and their power). Actu...

first practice ngondro in a gelug tradition
hello everibody!
I have a question...i' m very interesting about the ngondro, especially the first preliminar practice: the 100000 prostrations with refuge. In a gelug tradition are they the 35 buddha?
thanks
