Re: Recognizing rigpa
Rigpa vs. samatha, etc. is a bit complicated. There's a very good article on this topic by Elias Carpiles: http://webdelprofesor.ula.ve/humanidades/elicap/en/uploads/Biblioteca/samadhi_and_dhyana.pdf Would it be considered, "stealing teachings" if I were to reach out to the DC and maybe at...

It's best to know the melodies and pronunciation, which the book alone won't provide.
If anyone else needs text, audio, and explanations for the upcoming WWT, do tell.

I've heard only a little of that direction so far and I'd appreciate someone enlightening me. This is for self-education, not for enjoying scandals or whatever.

Re: Is Dzogchen only accidentally Buddhist?
Even the "state", whatever you mean by that, is not "pure" Dzogchen. Buddhahood might be "pure" Dzogchen. But as long as we are on a path, our Dzogchen is not "pure." Now we're discussing a different thing, when I said what I said I for one really wasn't disc...

I was making a distinction between the simplified body of practices and the state. Which one do you think ChNN refers to?Malcolm wrote:ChNN himself has said many times there is no such thing as "pure Dzogchen."

Re: Is Dzogchen only accidentally Buddhist?
I believe that this tendency of "pure dzogchen" bare-bones approach that people argue with is often not dzogchen, but rather people who lack clarity simplifying the teaching. Therefore bad reputation. When something is confusing, there is a great tendency to throw away the weird baggage an...

Re: Lama and trust
Often teachers have no big influence on what's going on and people around them make decisions. Closing your center might have never been his intent, his might have even been against it, but... Samsara! In your shoes I would grab the last straw and email him or maybe reach him through other people an...

5 Buddha families & their samaya(s)
I received the samaya (or multiples of those?) of five buddha families from two teachers and for two different empowerments and I still do not know what they are! Neither of them explained, and googling doesn't shed any light on existence of a samaya related to buddha families. I found a video of so...

Re: Root Longde text-Dzin Dharmabodhi
That means that one needs support. Who is going to give you support if you want to practice longde? Rinpoche will once again be providing transmission of ati soon. What else does anyone need for success with longde? I understand complaints about lack of personal advise or lack of texts, how...

Re: Five elements
5 dhyani buddhas represent skandhas\wisdoms and 5 elements are represented by their consorts. I think this picture is a bit theoretical, though, and whether any direct connection between elements and wisdoms exist I don't know. There are differences between buddhist traditions sometimes, like water ...

Re: Five elements
Five elements are connected to energy, we balance out our energy issues to improve its condition. A lot depends on it, not only health, but clarity of mind, memory, well-being, defense from provocations, capacity, etc. Unbalanced energy can be a reason of failure to recognize rigpa.

Re: Some Questions About Goma Devi-Jnanadakini-Longsal Root
I took it as in order to practice the more elaborate deity sadhanas we need the full "tsawang" of that practice (root initiation) as opposed to the donwang which the essence or brief one? Can't be true, I received Longsal Longde which was mentioned above by Rinpoche, the donwang of Ngondz...

Re: Some Questions About Goma Devi-Jnanadakini-Longsal Root
Additionally, these are replies I received from a 4th level SMS instructor, translated: Donwang happened online, full intitation didn't happen online. Root initiation gives a right to read some of the Longsal texts. To practice you usually need a separate empowerment. I said I was still unclear whet...

I've already asked instructors, now awaiting reply. If for some reason they don't reply or aren't certain, I'll ask Rinpoche.
