Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
To equate not having a public forum with secrecy doesn't make sense, we are open and transparent within its members, not to the public. I think JD is not realising a lot of the problems he is experiencing and criticisms he has are coming from being active on a disconnected public forum and not acti...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I appreciate that you’d rather we didn’t discuss this on a public forum, but I politely disagree on that. I think you’ll find that everyone discussing is a student of ChNNr and has made efforts to get clarity from their local gars on the situation already. This isn’t speculation amongst strangers b...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
... I feel these are valid and somewhat obvious points that get shot down out of "being respectful" "being calm" "not assigning blame" etc. But this is kind of where the rubber meets the road, isn't it? I think context the for these statements and advice’s is getting c...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Maybe that's an ok thing that things go in a smaller direction. Yes, the organisation is there to support the teachers and the students, not the other way around, so if it needs to shrink a little we adapt to that. I think this is the point, it takes time for the DC as a whole to recognise and give...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Johnny, but a lot of us simply don't agree there has been much fault with communication which I guess is your issue. And I don't understand what denial is being talked about.. "We are now in a different situation and have to take full responsibility for ourselves. After Rinpoche passed away som...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
The reason Adriano mentioned monasteries was that many times the survival of the monastery becomes the main point and the teachers and teachings become servants to that. Obviously we don't want that to be the case with the DC, we look at what teachers and students we have and build the DC to serve t...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I think the whole point of Rinpoche's vision for Gar's is to keep them as far away from organisations like monasteries as possible, and he was well aware that the Gar format was not perfect, it was the best he could do since problems are inevitable. You can read this for yourself in the Gar guidance...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Is this thread helping anyone? Personally, after getting past my expectations and criticism of others, I don't feel any angst about this anymore and think the communication has been adequate and the situation is clear enough for each of us to know how to proceed. But it doesn't seem like the people...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I mean from the all the communication we have had since Rinpoche passed. Plus, someone just posted Adriano's recent advice here, which is much the same as we have had before, this is what is important now imo.
Anyway I'll bow out, I hope you and others find peace with all this!

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
This is why the meetings took place in the first place, people want more clarity so they bug the gakyils then the gakyils bug the IG which then bugs Yeshe, give it a little time to be announced, but it really doesn't sound like a big deal either way.

This is not my understanding after speaking to my local gakyil and would be a reversal of what Yeshi has already offered.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
Guys, I understand it is a bit difficult as it seems unclear how the transmission will continue, those empowered to do so don't show any interest at the moment, but what I heard from the Namkhai family was lets wait at least 3 years, not just one year, before thinking about the long term future of t...

Thought I deleted the first one. Not sure what you mean about his books, they are in English, with some terms left in Chinese for reference.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I genuinely don’t mean this as a diss to Frantzis, but I don’t think his regular Chinese is that good either. I was really into his stuff when I was in my early 20s and I remember showing a few in his books to some of my coworkers who were studying college level Chinese (one was Taiwanese and one w...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
His Chinese is very very good as far as I can tell, and I studied it a little at SOAS, have heard him speak fluently very fast and easily with Chinese people, and chant Taoist liturgies. I think you can relax about that one! He speaks Japanese fluently also.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I always felt ChNN was aware of what Frantzis was doing since many of his students went to ChNN also. I don't recall any specific mention, but ChNN for sure encouraged us to use methods from other traditions, Buddhist or not, if they were useful and not be limited. I know people who asked ChNN about...
