new to forum, with a comment about Mtrcetas praises
Hello,I'm new here.I found online a transalion of Matrceta's "Praise of the Buddha in 150 verses, well known in Asia, maybe but, except for scholars ,little known here in the U.S.Translated by Ven.S Dammika[there are 152 verses],they were widely known during the flourishing of the Dharma in India and spread widely with its promulgation.I only know of these verses from Martin Wilson's"In Praise Of Tara",in his treatment of praises of Tara attributed to one of the same name as the former author. These praises are very moving and eloquent and I mean to recite them and maybe memorize them.M. Wilson in the same text mentions "Praises To One Who Is Worthy Of Praises";it is implied by the Ven.Bikku that these are not available in Sanskrit;purhaps they are available in Pali or Chinese?
