Hi, Everyone! I'm female, in my 20s, living in Northern California, and new to Buddhism. I started seriously reading about Buddhism after college for reasons that I can't even remember at this point, and became sucked in for reasons I still don't understand. I began meditating several months ago. I am currently dabbling in Chan, because it's convenient for me at the moment, but I haven't really found a "home" in any branch just yet.
I never was previously affiliated with any organized religion but had (and still have) some amateurish academic interest in early Christianity, especially New Testament scholarship and gnosticism.

Welcome!
Chan is cool!!! There are great resources around (from classics to modern masters like Hsu Yun) but hopefully you can also find a good Chan teacher.
Wishing you a good experience on the Forum.
