Hello!

Post by Naominamaste »

Hello.
I am called Naomi and have only recently begun to read into Buddhist teachings and ways of life.
I am excited but nervous, and most of all very serious, about choosing to dedicate my life to this way of life.
I was wondering if someone could guide me towards which path is oust appropriate for me to follow. Theravada or Mahayana? Thought it best to ask real people's opinions! I know it is each to their own.
I live in the UK and am 21 years old.
Thanks! :rolling:

Ultimately, only you can decide what path to take. I wish you the best of luck on your path and welcome to the forum.

Hello and welcome naomi. :hi:

A good option in exploring what's right for you is to visit different centres near you and see what reasonates. Where are you located? There a number of UK members here who might be able to make suggestions and steer you clear of a few dodgy centres.

Hello & welcome!

I think it is best, you don't force a decision about which tradition to follow. Take your time, watch everything with open eyes - and decide yourself, as soon as you are convinced. Like Seishin said, the best person to tell which tradition you should follow, is yours is yourself.
