transcribed Khenchen Thrangu talk?

Postby anjali » Mon Sep 17, 2012 1:38 am

Greetings,

There is an audio (and video) recording of Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche giving a discourse on Mahamudra: Eliminating the Darkness of Ignorance: http://www.namsebangdzo.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=14893. Does anyone know if this has been transcribed into a text for purchase?

I find it odd that, of the three texts by Wangchuk Dorje--Pointing out the Dharmakaya, Eliminating the Darkness of Ignorance and Ocean of Definitive Meaning, there are printed commentaries available on the restricted texts (Pointing and Ocean) and no printed commentaries available for the text we can purchase (Eliminating). Or at least none that I am aware of.

This is a translation of the root text http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Mahamud ... 8185102139

"The direct, hard to understand, subtle field of knowing, the Great Path, is non-conceptual (akalpana), and entirely beyond the grasp of intellectual thought. Divorced from verbal ideation, it is difficult to point out and as difficult to enquire into. It cannot be communicated through words and [therefore] is not within the scope of the neophyte (adikarmika). Nevertheless the path is to be approached through studying scriptures (sutra) of the World-Teacher and following the personal instructions (upadesa) of one's Guru-ji."

I'm guessing that is the same as this? http://www.amazon.com/The-Mahamudra-Eli ... +ignorance

I have the root text. What I would like is a commentary to go along with it. For example, there is a root text by Dakpo Tashi Namgyal called Clarifying the Natural State: A Principal Guidance Manual for Mahamudra: http://www.amazon.com/Clarifying-Natura ... ural+state.
In addition to the root text, there is an excellent commentary to Namgyal's text by Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche called Crystal Clear: Practical Advice for Mahamudra Meditators: http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Clear-Pra ... pd_sim_b_5
The combination makes for an excellent way to study the root text.

I was hoping to find an available companion commentary text by KTR for Eliminating the Darkness. Unfortunately, I can't find one by him or anyone else, and the only commentary I have been able to find at all is the audio recording by KTR.
