Buddy of mine went bald in his early twenties. Spent tens of thousands on getting his hair back. After it was all over and he gave up he showed me a simple trick.

He pressed the pads of his fingers firmly on my scalp, not the nails he stressed as that could damage the follicles, but the soft pads. He pulled them in opposite directions hard and it hurt in the areas where I was starting to get thinning hair. I did this vigourous massage for a few days and it stopped hurting and the hair got thicker again eventually. He said that was the most important thing he learned and if he did it sooner he could have kept most of his hair. I think it worked as my brother lost his hair and I kept mine so far.

Also don't wear a helmet. They can make you lose a ton of hair permanently.

But not wearing a helmet can also make you lose hair/brain/skull fragments permanently too. Always the toss-up when it comes to staying beautiful.
