Problem: Threads not registering as read, etc...
I'm having some difficulty with how the board is keeping track of threads for me.
Normally, threads with unread posts have an orange square on the left of the thread title, and clicking on that takes you to the first unread post.
For a day or two:
1. Clicking on the square takes me to the first post, not the last read.
2. Furthermore, the square does not disappear when I read to the end of the thread.
This is odd. It used to work fine, and still does over on DhammaWheel. I've tried logging out, clearing board cookies, and using different browsers, to no avail...

Me too.
1.The problem isn’t ‘ignorance’. The problem is the mind you have right now. (H.H. Karmapa XVII @NYC 2/4/18)
2. I support Mingyur R and HHDL in their positions against lama abuse.
3. Student: Lama, I thought I might die but then I realized that the 3 Jewels would protect me.
Lama: Even If you had died the 3 Jewels would still have protected you. (DW post by Fortyeightvows)

I am also experiencing these issues of late.
I first noticed it in the Physicalist Theory of Mind thread, where the listed most recent post is not, in fact, the most recent.

doesn't even lead to that post, but instead the first post in the thread. This is the only thread with this specific problem as far as I can tell, since the other borked threads I can check still register a correct 'most recent' post & a valid link there.

There have been issues with the database lately, as reported here:
http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16888
these issues obviously concerned the sessions table, which stores exactly the data about which user was online when. My guess is these problems will disappear by themselves in a while. For me everything is already working fine again.
P.S.
ahemm... except for maybe sometimes... but let's just wait and see

I guess we'll just have to wait...

OK, I used the "mark all forums read" option and at least in this thread it knows I've read the last post. Just have to wait for someone to post again to test...

OK the "Mark Forums Read" button from the Home page seems to have cleared up the problem for me...

[http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.ph ... &start=240]This thread[/url] still seems to suffer from the problem, at least on my end... I think the others are fixed now... odd...

Re: Problem: Threads not registering as read, etc...
My problems have returned. I have to manually set the forum as read (i.e. thereads do not get marked as read).
Anyone else still having these issues?

By understanding everything you perceive from the perspective of the view, you are freed from the constraints of philosophical beliefs.
By understanding that any and all mental activity is meditation, you are freed from arbitrary divisions between formal sessions and postmeditation activity.

There's got to be some corruption somewhere; http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.ph ... 56#p243306" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - 'A Physicalist Theory of Mind' is also still borked.
...or, this can be blamed on the browser being used?

I'm having the same problem in several of the threads I have posted on. I'll check when I get home to see if it is browser dependant.

I'm having the same problem. Even this on this thread!
At first it was only one thread, at the moment it's about half the threads I open.
I use firefox. Both on linux and windows/

Re: Problem: Threads not registering as read, etc...
Seems to be working properly for me at this point, after several weeks of needing to manually "mark forums read"...

Oops was also wondering, why not Theravada discussion?
