As for the video, it's a little over the top. The Tibetan flag on the shirt, yeah, that's probably problematic. Not sure about the Taiwanese hat. There's actually quite a bit of back and forth between China and Taiwan. There are elements of China, especially in the larger cities, that are pretty hip.

The bible's a non issue and the whole palms together is not a big deal at all, nor is stretching. China's got problems, no denying that, but they are much more sophisticated and tolerant than this video would indicate "you can stretch in private, but not in public". Yeah, there's only millions of old people (and young) that do qigong out in public. And people in China always appreciate a respectful .

I'd love to see them do one of these videos, perhaps with a muslim guy from Iran or someplace similar, getting set to come to the U.S.

But we should go ahead and throw the US in with China since the US loves to execute people using lethal injection http://www.amnestyusa.org/our-work/issues/death-penalty/lethal-injection. If I recall correctly, George Bush as governor of Texas never once stopped an execution. And we elected him president, twice! Even after he started wars and took away rights from American citizens.

At least the Chinese are only killing their own people, whereas in the US, we kill people by the tens and hundreds of thousands to bring democracy to their shores. After all we can't be killing those many people just for profit - well, actually, we probably are. We also had a president (Obama) wax lyrical and give reasons justifying why we (the US) must continue to wage war in his acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The article does raise interesting questions on using executed prisoners organs for transplants. If the state has the right to deprive a person of their life, is it more of a transgression to collect their organs? If it is, why? It seems more to do with where we draw the line "I'm okay killing someone, but desecrating the body is a sin". Would it be okay if the people doing it weren't making huge profits? Or if they were using the profits to compensate the victims of the crimes done by the person being executed?

I'll have to check with my wife. It sounded Putonghua, but it doesn't sound like Beijing dialect. I'd say it sounds more Taiwanese. Especially in the way she pronounced Xizang (Tibet).

a bit older than 10 years old. And old enough to have seen how the Jolly Green Giant of the U.S. has brought about a significant amount of carnage around the world for the benefit of a few corporate elite and their shareholders to get richer and richer.

As a citizen of the United States, how do I have the right to criticize and call other countries the moral equivalent of the Nazis when my own country does far worse? Last night I overheard part of the confirmation hearing for the new Attorney General and a direct question was put to him "is it constitutional to kill a US citizen on US soil if at that specific moment in time they were not engaged in any activity that presented a clear and present danger, i.e., sitting at a cafe having coffee?" All he could say is that it would be inappropriate. You might be okay with that, I'm not.

10 year olds believe in the goodness and righteousness of the U.S. Ten year olds also have never lived in a world were America was not in armed conflict and occupying a foreign country.

I would say we are less like the Nazi's and more like George Orwell's 1984.

I may only be nine years old but I still know that America is not 'George Orwell's 1984' and it is certainly not 'far worse' than China

Yes, the video is over the top, but it doesn't hurt to remind people of the repressive policies of the Chinese government. I don't think we should use the faults of the United States to ignore the repression that is happening every day in China.

Her accent may be Taiwanese Mandarin, but it could also be any one of a number of places such as Fujian, or even Malaysian or Singaporean. It's almost a nice generic Mandarin / Putonghua which you could find anywhere.

The actual content of that clip is rather over the top, though. Oppressive regime, yes; but it's not that ridiculous.
