um need help with avatar

Try a very, very small thumbnail image first, to prove you can upload at all. Then, if that works or doesn't work, we'll know where to look for further solutions.

This avatar of mine, which I found on Google images, was too large in its original size, so I pasted it onto a Microsoft Paint file and resized it to fit this forum's requirements. Then I saved the Paint file as a JPEG and uploaded it to postimage.org, simply because that was the first result on Google, copied the appropriate URL, and that's it.

What is the image that you want to use?

I recommend that you use the "Upload from your machine" option on the "Edit avatar" page.

Download an image and edit it using a program such as Paint to ensure that it is the correct size and file type, then use this option to upload it directly.

If this still doesn't work, then there may be a problem with your browser.

I have a vague memory that once upon a time the board had a range of pre-set avatars which you could just select from the "edit avatar" screen. Am I right? If so, does anyone know what happened to it? Did it disappear in the upgrade?

I just tried with a test account, resizing an pic to dimensions under 160 pixels each way and it worked. Do you want to send me your pic and I can try to do it for you, Dema?
