White Dadars

Post by Prasutagus »

Friends...

I'm in search of a source for white dadars. By that I mean the long life arrows, except with all white streamers instead of streamers of the colors of the five Buddha Families. This is used in a practice that I am engaged in. The following help would be useful:

1. a source to purchase such a dadar.
2. a source to have such a dadar made.
3. instructions on how to make one.

You can buy a dadar at this link
http://www.potalagate.com/Qstore/Qstore ... Arrow+%231
It has the colored streamers. But you can also buy five white katas and replace the colored streamers.

Here is another source for a dadar.

Or, you can get a piece of three sectioned bamboo, a bamboo arrow would work, a melong and a feather along with the five white streamers and make your own.

I did a long google search for dadars once, and never came across any with just white streamers.
Good luck.

Just replace the streamers.

I doubt you're gonna find an all white da-dar ready-made. As other respondents have suggested, just make your own. You can buy an arrow at a sporting goods/hunting store. It doesn't have to be bamboo. Then attach five pieces of white silk or cotton. Also attach a small melong/mirror. It's common to attach the melong to some beads and cowries, such as turquoise, coral, amber, and/or zi beads (real or not real as one can afford).

Good luck and best wishes.
