I thought I'd start a thread on those teachers that inspire us and that we hope to meet.
I think that the first teacher that comes to mind that I'd love to meet is Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. There's a certain cutting through to the very core in all the teachings I've ever seen him give. He seems to keep everything on the experiential level, even when explaining complex issues of Buddhist philosophy.
I would also love to meet Choking Rinpoche. Mainly because he terrifies me.

Padmesambhava....if I could only (geeze louise)...get him away from those darn vampires for a bit ..
Ah maybe tomorrrow
I want to ask Padmesambhava this.... I suspect he entered Tibet not only obviously to spread dharma but I assume he may have entered as a means in itself.
Did he use the energy of spells encantations and things of demon response in their bad way when being prodded.... as a energy for the spiritual as others may. What a powerful energy that and they give it away for free . Chooseing Tibet as many there may be found. Did he incite them and use their energy of malevolent response in this fashion...if I could today or tomorrow I would ask him that. Or was he done with that at that time?
No matter really, I am curious.
What a wonderful time and place....anything may be said and quite explicitedly.....

Who I haven't met before?
The new Kalu Rinpoche. Tai Situ Rinpoche and Thrangu Rinpoche as well.
I'd really like to see Mingyur Rinpoche again when he comes out from retreat.

Aside from my teachers, from living teachers I guess Chatral Rinpoche, Younge Khachab Rinpoche and Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, edit: also just remembered Lama Dawa Rinpoche. From dead teachers, Garab Dorje, Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra and Longchenpa.
Although many individuals in this age appear to be merely indulging their worldly desires, one does not have the capacity to judge them, so it is best to train in pure vision.

So many. Top of my list would be HHDL. Also Matthieu Ricard, Thubten Chodron, Bodhipaksa, Ponlop Rinpoche. Ajahn Chah would be very high on my list if he were still with us. And what a hoot it would be to jump into a time machine and go follow the Boss Himself, or have tea with Dogen.
Sergeant Schultz knew everything there was to know.
