Environmentalism VS Individualism

Post by Heruka »

Is environmentalism just another socialist attack on individualism. Will a prohibition of freedoms really save the planet? Is environmentalism really a socialist ideology to homogenize the people of the world? At its core is just control of global resources. Really is it just a power grab to secure the worlds resources in the oldest con of supply and demand, into the hands of the elitist groups, away from the hands of the worlds population? Will the reduction of world resources create more conflict and war than at anytime in human history? Who owns the planet any way?
The old wisdom of those that hand over ones freedom for security, deserve neither. A power grab of the worlds resources to centralized un democratic, un elected world organizations such as the WTO, the UN, OPEC etc, and trading block conglomerates, EU, NAU, and the Chinese?

Some things, like the carbon tax appear to be attempting the things you mention. But reducing methane and/or smog will at least be good for reducing pollution including the air we breathe.

Some green alternatives also save money and create numerous new green businesses, which seems to even support and encourage 'capitalism.'

But for some, I agree the agenda could be something else.
