No I forgot about it. Because I do have some demands on my time and an extreme lack of resources it'll take me a few weeks to get going. But the main thing is that I forgot. I'll get the initial steps done by Sunday.

Kirt
That's great Kirt. No rush. I just think it's a good idea worth pursuing.

If it will be possible for individuals to post events occuring in their region, I will be more than happy to contribute.

Great idea, Kirt.

I am surprised that this isn't being done already.

Please PM me if you would like me to contribute to the graphics or coding.

(Jesse, your ideas are great too, the same applies.)

One thought I had was that the directory would just list buddhist 'events' eg public talks, teachings, retreats but not the weekly teachings at local centres. This would limit it's scope, therefore making it more manageable. The buddhanet directory already provides the local information.

I did quite a bit of work on the website at one point. Then it got put on the back-burner. I still have the source code lying around somewhere. If anyones interested in picking up the torch I can upload the website source to git-hub.

Just let me know. and I'll see if I can find it.

Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

I have my own work in progress, but I would be very interested to see yours.

Funny how websites are to programmers what novels are to aspiring writers. :smile:
