21 Homages to Tara for Fukushima

Last summer, after the Fukushima disaster Jetsunma asked Yangthang Rinpoche to do a Mo on what we could do to help. The problems at the Fukushima Daichi reactors are ongoing.


Yangthang Rinpoche requested 100,000 repetitions of the 21 Homages to Tara.

~14,000 of 100,000 are completed so far, but I've had it on my mind to ask for more help.

Deff, I have an email about this idea in to Gonpo, one of the heads of our spiritual programs. Haven't heard back yet. I'm not sure if I can squeeze in $250 for pujas in the midst of all the other projects or not. People are going to the Palyul retreat in NYC soon, so I might have better luck when they get back.

Gosh, this is such a good idea.

Ideally, I'd like to both the sponsorship of the pujas and the local accumulation of 21 Homages. Right now TEPCO says it will be 10 years before they even have the technology to deal with the nuclear power plants, and Scientific American reports that the leaked radiation traces have been found in sea kelp off the coast of California.

In the meantime, we were at 13,800-something last month. Now the bar stands at 14,370. *\o/*

This is what we ended up doing, so thank you. The nuns were wonderful and enthusiastic about helping Fukushima. They said the 21 Homages is a very powerful prayer. (The temple is also still accumulating an additional 100,000. We just reaching 22,000 now.)
