Yes. It is called "having huge misconceptions about the teachings".

HA! That's pretty much what I was thinking it was, too. If you're attached to the wrong point of view, you are definitely blocking yourself. Nobody else is blocking you.

I have heard it said that the great Jamgon Mipham did not accomplish rainbow body
mainly because he was engaged in writing many books. I heard a similar question asked
of the Mindrolling Khenpo about who (among hidden yogis) can accomplish rainbow body.
The point of the question then was "cannot any serious and sincere practitioner complete
their practice?"
He said those who have no worldly concerns are the ones and added that nobody's likely
to meet them since they stay in retreat.

CHNN does not say we should think rainbow body is not possible, but he does show us what we do habitually that can cause us to block ourselves. He says to go beyond limitation, so one must begin to see what ones own limitations truly are. If you can be in your nature and integrate that state with everything you do including being in society what is the problem?

Rinpoche says to do our best. There isn't any kind of heavy "expectations".
Working with circumstance he stresses.

Yes, if you have the usual Western lifestyle, pretty much. Unless you're some kind of Dharma freak or something I guess. I wouldn't count on it though.

You are really not providing enough information.
Do you have a transcript of his teaching,
can you provide a link to a video,
or can you elaborate more on the context?
'Blockage' can mean all sorts of things.

I wouldn't sweat to much about setting goals or whether you will achieve anything or not. That sort of thinking is not conducive to practice.
