Tashi delek,
There arose the questions,
- In what can we see similarities between Yantra Yoga and Tsalung Trulkor?
- And when do they differ great?
- What is the origen of Yantra Yoga and Tsalung Trulkor?
- Is Tsalung Trulkor used in Thodgal preparations?
- Can one use Yantra Yoga as a preparation forThodgal practice?
Thanks for your attention

Re: Tsalung Trulkor and Yantra Yoga
"Trulkor" is the Tibetan translation of the word "yantra". They are same thing. Different lineages of yantra/trulkor have differences.kalden yungdrung wrote:Tashi delek,

Sure.
Muchos gracias for your reply.
But in Bon is also a Tsalung Trulkor lineage and that differs great from Yantra Yoga (lineages). Yantra Yoga is what is done inside the tradition of Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and seems to be based on hatha yoga mainly with counting.
Further maintain we inside Bon Dzogchen, the famous 5 postures for Thodgal and they are not at all similar to the other yoga styles i (did) practice. Then do these 5 greatly differ according the many Dzogchen lineages Bon has about 4 or more.
So if in this light seen Yantra Yoga as well Tsalung Trulkor would serve for preparations, then yes, but then maybe in the Trekchod method?
Best wishes

Yantra is just a name. The name of Norbu Rinpoche's system is known in Tibetan as "Bairo Trulkhor". He chose to back translate the name into Sanskrit. There are many different systems of Yantra/Trulkhor in Tibet. Sakya Lamdre has one; Nyingma has many; Kagyu has the Trulkhor from Naropa. Gelugpas have one related to Vajrabhairava as well as Naropa's system. Then there is a specific tradition of Trulkhor associated with Kalacakra. Then there is Trulkhor associated with Shangpa Kagyu, I would imagine. They are all a little different, but have the same basic principle in mind i.e. freeing up knots and kinks of the body and removing disease.kalden yungdrung wrote:

They all have similarities, and they all have differences. Bairo Trulkhor is the one that most resembles Hatha Yoga overall. It is perhaps the oldest one we have, as well.
You asked about preparation, not main practice.Further maintain we inside Bon Dzogchen, the famous 5 postures for Thodgal and they are not at all similar to the other yoga styles i (did) practice.

Tashi delek,
Got here a Yoga booklet from Kalu Rinpoche, done (the composing of the yoga set) on my special request to the late H.E. Kalu Rinpoche about 1986 in Belgium.
I guess it belongs also to these Shangpa Kagyud Tsalung Trulkor?
Maybe you know this booklet?
Best Wished

I think you're talking about Kalu Rinpoche's "Nangpai Naljor," or "Buddhist Yoga." This is something other than what I'm talking about....though I'm positive the Shangpa transmissions influenced the Buddhist Yoga he taught publically.
