Shamar Rinpoche passed away

Post by Kelwin »

Very sad news about Shamar Rinpoche, from the Renchen-Ulm Bodhipath center in Germany, where he was teaching.

http://bodhipath-renchen-ulm.de/news-pr ... 59fa6df41/

Dear friends,

we are all deeply shocked - this morning during the breakfast Shamar Rinpoche passed away - he got a sudden heart death. The emergency doctors came here right away but couldn't do anything anymore.

Rinpoche already had a short black out during the course but the doctors confirmed that even an immediate transfer to the hospital wouldn't have changed anything.

Jigme Rinpoche and we all ask you to do the Buddha Amitabha Practise for Shamar Rinpoche, please.

with extremely sad regards,

your Bodhi Path Team

We will publish a statement from His Holiness Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje on http://karmapa.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; soon. In the meantime, His Holiness asks all of you to dedicate your merit and practice to Shamar Rinpoche, and to practice Amitabha Tsok pujas for him."

As I type I can smell the residue of an incense stick from a pack that Rinpoche gave my wife just last week..

I feel quite wounded by the shocking news. Shamar Rinpoche was working quite hard this year teaching in America, UK, and Germany. I pray that he returns to us quickly. Om Ami Dewa Hri! :anjali:

My sincere condolences.

Having lost my own teacher recently, I know this will be a hard time for his students, family and those who loved him.

Depend on the meaning and not on the words
Depend on the depth and not on the surface
Depend on wisdom and not on concepts

I first met him live in person back then in 2011 in my country and heard his teaching on Amitabha Buddha & Dewachen.
May The Shamarpa return back swiftly riding on his Vows! :namaste:

Today’s startling news that H.H. Gyalwa Shamarpa Rinpoche has entered parinirvana at his Dharma Centre in Germany came as a great shock, filling us with sadness. Rinpoche’s very sudden and entirely unexpected passing is a tremendous loss to Buddhism, specifically to the Kagyu Lineage, and to a great many Dharma practitioners everywhere. It is as though the blackness of night has suddenly swallowed up our world.

Our sangha pray that Gyalwa Shamarpa’s enlightened activities and vast aspirations for the benefit of all beings continue to unfold, without interruption, and quickly reach fruition.

We wish to express our deepest condolences to Jigme Rinpoche, to Gyalwa Sharmapa Rinpoche’s other family members and to his extensive sangha.

May the sun of his next incarnation dawn as soon as possible!

As you know Shamar Rinpoche was closed to our late Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and all of us,
So we all are doing prayers and offering butter lamps in the name of Shamar Rinpoche.
May all of us wish a swift rebirth of Shamar Rinpoche.

It's always sad when a great Dharma teacher dies, never the right moment, always to early! My condolences to his students, too!
