Kyerim

Post by Konchog1 »

Any good Gelug books on Kyerim in English?
Equanimity is the ground. Love is the moisture. Compassion is the seed. Bodhicitta is the result.

-Paraphrase of Khensur Rinpoche Lobsang Tsephel citing the Guhyasamaja Tantra

"All memories and thoughts are the union of emptiness and knowing, the Mind.
Without attachment, self-liberating, like a snake in a knot.
Through the qualities of meditating in that way,
Mental obscurations are purified and the dharmakaya is attained."

The following books cover kyerim/generation stage practice:

The Kalachakra Tantra by HH Dalai Lama (on Kalachakra tantra)
Union of Indivisible Method and Wisdom by Geshe Thubten Loden (specifically on the Yamantaka system)
Swift Path to Kechara Paradise by Geshe Tharcin (generation stage of Vajrayogini)

There are more general books that include instructions on the philosophy, psychology and spiritual technology behind generation stage practices that I highly recommend for practitioners of all deities:

Principles of Buddhist Tantra from the late Kirti Tsenzhab Rinpoche

To understand the method of Bringing the Three Bodies into the path which is the crux of generation stage practice this book is indispensible:

Death, Intermediate State and Rebirth in Tibetan Buddhism by Lati Rinpoche and Jeffrey Hopkins

Some of the completion stage practice books also have a nice little section on kye rim. See...

Stairway to the State of Union: A Collection of Teachings on Secret Mantra
by Choden Rinpoche which has been translated by two really good translators.

also,

Paths and Grounds of Guhyasamaja According to Arya Nagarjuna [Paperback]
by Yangchen Gawai Lodoe
http://www.amazon.com/Paths-Grounds-Guh ... 8185102945" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, Lama Yeshe's Intro to Tantra, and The Bliss of Inner Fire are great.

Finally, I have to second Jkhedrup's recommendation of Geshe Loden's book. An unbelievable Lama!

I'm looking for Loden's book, but the publisher wants me to send them my credit card number (hahahaha no). I'm checking ebay and the like. Any ideas?
