tibetan language for the prayer

Post by whitemonia »

namastè,

what Dalai Lama, or gelug lineage, suggests about the prayer language? It is better in own language (for the meaning) or in tibetan language (the traditional)?

Thanks

HH Dalai Lama has said that for individual practice, it is better to use an English text.

A friend of mine actually knows HHDL's sister in India. His sister asked my friend for an English copy of the Six Session Guru Yoga as she had told HH she found it easier to understand Buddhist terminology in English than in Tibetan. So that gives some indication of how flexible HH is on this topic.
