Re: Music time
Unbeknownst to Thom Yorke, this track is actually an affirmation of life.
Re: Music time
Around '91 I was on a trip to Atlanta and visited the awesome Little Five Points area where they had a cool record store that sold the latest techno (and other genres too) for DJs. This album was my favorite of what I bought (still have it). This song samples from the Dune movie (and the quote just got mentioned in another thread which made me think of it).

Thus shall ye think of all this fleeting world:
A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream;
A flash of lightning in a summer cloud,
A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream.

Re: Music time
This is probably the coolest piece of music I've ever listened to. The audio is of a tape with a single short looping piece of music on it being transferred to a digital recording. When Basinski went to transfer it, the magnetic material on the tape started to fall off slowly, creating this unearthly decaying sound in the music. The only problem with it is that you have to listen to it for a long time for the effect to really hit you.

This is Ali Farka Touré, legendary Malian musician. Unfortunately no longer with us in this format.

Hey, that was sweet. It reminds me of the house music I used to listen to when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing.Mkoll wrote:Here's some totally not chill-out electronic dance music. A very dark track.

From the 2014 movie "Frank". That's Michael Fassbender inside the head on vocals.
I liked the movie, except for the compulsory American style happy ending.
