"The Four Noble Truths", George Schouten

Post by kirtu »

From the Dutch Buddhist Broadcasting Foundation (BOS), a documentary by George Schouten of a conference at the Sarnath International Nyingma Institute on the Four Noble Truths and their relevance in the light of modern experience. Mostly in English (and Dutch and Thai). Subtitled when necessary in English.
Twenty free thinkers; journalists, scientists and artists, from all over the world meet in Sarnath, India to discuss The Four Noble Truth in their life, and the value these truths have nowadays in regards to the suffering in the world.
The Four Noble Truths
“Where do atomic bombs come from?”
Zen Master Seung Sahn said, “That’s simple. Atomic bombs come from the mind that likes this and doesn’t like that.”

"Even if you practice only for an hour a day with faith and inspiration, good qualities will steadily increase. Regular practice makes it easy to transform your mind. From seeing only relative truth, you will eventually reach a profound certainty in the meaning of absolute truth."
Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

"Only you can make your mind beautiful."

That was a really cool video. I especially enjoyed seeing Tarthang Tulku's daughter in it.
