By Lopön Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche:

In Magyüd it explains it should be 4 fingers in width and the length should be long enough to wrap around yourself, the size of the belt is measured between the out stretched arms, from finger tip to finger tip. You measure it individually, like this.

In the centre it should be red-brown and the sides golden.

There should be the 6 syllables in the centre to represent the Six Dakinis of the Six Lamdro (6 Paths):

- Thabdrol;
- Tsalung;
- Phowa;
- Chöd;
- dream practice
- Bardo.

These are the 6 practices.

Each of the 6 Dakinis is the Guardian or Owner, and the related syllables have something to do with these Teachings, and they are written on the belt.

It says, don't keep the postures loosely; keep in the right position. That is posture.
