Tibetan language resources update

Post by Punya »

As this thread http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=9866 was created a while ago it seems like it's time to do an update.

My contributions are that the Tibetan online dictionary can now be found at http://khata.co/ while the Nitartha dictionary seems to be out of action while they overhaul their website.

This online keyboard https://www.branah.com/tibetan is also also good except I can't figure out how to add a ratak or yatak. Are there any better ones around?

Problem solved now I've installed this free keyboard (donations appreciated) http://www.thubtenrigzin.fr/denjongtibtype/en.html. I'm finding it easy and intuitive to use.

I have used this video to learn the Tibetan consonants. It seems like the pronunciation of a couple aren't quite the Lhasa dialect but it's pretty close https://youtu.be/PUuU9Oj7DEI

This resource from Ranjung Yeshe helps to learn some classical vocabulary but you may need to master correct pronunciation first as there is no audio.

This app https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ea663e3028 also from studytibetan.com, includes audio for superscripts, subscripts, prefixes and suffixes. Unfortunately their main website seems to be under virus attack at the moment.
