Buddhist course: How to find peace of mind through meditation
From 13th to 21 September in Dharma City:
Rue de Mettet, 300
5620 Florennes - Belgique
Contact: [email protected] & +32 494 794787
This course is part of the series of teachings given by Patrul Rinpoche, almost every year in Dharma City, Florennes, in Belgium. It is designed for both, Buddhists and non-Buddhists. This time Rinpoche will encourage us to familiarize with the meditation, on the theoretical and practical level. Teachings will be based on the short text entitled “Wheel of Analysis and Meditation That Thoroughly Purifies Mental Activity”, written in XIX century by famous Tibetan master Mipham Rinpoche.
In the introductory part, we can read :
“Whatever problems there are in the word
Are created by the afflictions in our own mind.”
As a remedy for the above, the author presents in a concise way essential points of Buddhist view, instructs us how to meditate in a correct way, and explains when we can be sure that we are successful in our practice. Meditation sessions twice per day will be integral part of the course. They will be guided by Khenpo Thubten Lodru Nyima, Tibetan and doctor of Buddhist philosophy, who is also very experienced meditator.
Participants will also have the chance to spend all evenings together, sometimes with the company of Khenpo, talking about Tibetan culture, watching films, etc.
Organizers hope that after this course, participants will get the knowledge and all necessary practical skills to develop meditative practice by their own. Partial attendance is possible.
The course will be preceded by two conferences:
How to relax our mind by mindfulness with Patrul Rinpoche in Belgium.
Tuesday, 9th September 2014
Mind: Dialogue between Buddhism and science with Patrul Rinpoche in Belgium.
Thursday, 11th September 2014
All events are in english and translated in french.
