The Link

I let things fall in place
What lineage?
What samaya?
For what?
I let the stream of consciousness
Flow upstream with effort
The dust
All other phemomena
All selfless
None with an atom of independent existance
The Gurus
Focus the rays of wisdom
Ignite the flame of inspiration
Deep in the bud
To let me bloom it
By positive actions
Regular meditation
No attachment to lineage
The link will itself come
By me keeping
My part of the bargain
By me halting mouth meditation
Not fantasizing modes of existence

Preta
You clung to possessions
Large,small and that of others
What eyes of timid karma had you
Hands like claws of eagles' sangha
You fell deep into the brother of sleep
Burn your love for such a greed
Your mind your energy
Irnun without direction
Though in oneness they abide
Your organs of sense
Bloom sorrow and delusions
Let's stop the irnun in transmigration
Come in freod, Preta come
We'll sit together to Buddha hum

Preta
You are the undertaker of your life
You began this lineage
By overstepping the Buddhist boarders
Into danger zones of Buddhism
Enjoying the empty pleasures
Closing the doors of escape
With denial without rejecting
Of greed within your mind
Making the karmic baggage heavy

You enjoyed the temporary moments of glory
Never letting go, never retiring
Now accept the price of disappointment
Your suffering does not require an answer
No explanations
As you disconnected from the Buddhist Truth
So were you born

Once your world was full of suffering
And full of overcoming suffering too
Yet you chose the path of greed
Unable to dissolve it
Unable to break the link
Holding on with all your might
Chopping the green tree in your heart
No birds could come to sing

Now in the trap of unfulfillment
You don't like what you have
Where you are
How you are
Still bouncing between aversion and craving
My heart aches in grief
In the midst of your great bitterness
I couldn't be deaf to my own being
Still caring for you
Praying for you
Ignoring the needs of my heart
For you serve as a remainder to me
To heal myself
To keep within the boundaries

I wish to spoon-feed you
With digestive food of Dharma
As you came to me in tears
Fifteen years ago
Slept beside me
As I listened to the whispers of your heart
I know of doors you opened to me
Doors you closed to me

Alone

Nailed to life
I love being alone
Observing the blooming mind
Unclogging
Letting it settle, directionless
Deep in the sense of ease
Erasing the world


No judging no blaming
No garbage of disappointment
Not a flick of compassion
No death by disappointment
No death by embarrassment

Then back to the times of Elvis
The Beatles, The Twist, A-Go-Go
Triggering not unresolved issues

Back to withdrawing from life
Disconnecting from the world
Not looking for a place to hide
I could not change the world
The strikes at the enemy
Escalation of pain
I could not stop the killing
Put a freeze on terror
Let them kill
Let them carry

From genuine engagement to abstract
As in meditation
But in negative samadhi
With cries of crickets in my ears
I love being all by myself
Always liking the 'person' I'm with

Alone in crowds, not arguing
Alone in groups, not blaming
Alone in the world, not fixing it
It's not the thought I'm after
Not even as the Dalai Lama put it
"Spend some time alone"

This rare peace of silence
Could stir nothing within
Not even if the Bishop of Rome
Decides to head Dharma Wheel

Responding to signals within
Deeply you looked into the face of your child
With the language of your heart
You tried to bend death
Your certainty could not be crushed
You could not escape the nadir of grief
Nor bury the river of sorrow
Failing to touch the dead
Those around the dead
Those living
Impermanence caught your eye
The little gift of suffering
With the Enlightened One
Your pain did not remain a life sentence
Healing us till now

With the 'I carry the gun' attitude
Man anticipates the events of loss
Denying joy and beauty
He crumbles factories producing digestible air
With low resistance to the avoidable
Handouts are kept for the self
Befriending greed to topple crying trees
Joyfully greeting the birth of concrete jungles
With a maze of streets
To confuse and destroy man
When the shift fails to align with mother nature
He sings non-attachment to forests of nature
His defense brings suffering to man
Generosity to himself
Causing disease to the round palace
In which his self too resides
With the door shut to nature
Fails he to accept that nature will bounce back
Keeps on prowling to pump up his pile
Looking for just a little more every time
His bottomless desire trapped in unfulfillment
He clings to his allies
To curse those who made Tenryu-ji
A world heritage site

Lost at the station of my life
Not seeing my past
My mind cluttered
I went quiet
Tranquil
My eyes fell upon my house
Idle lay
Standing isolate
Full of tolerance
Not elbowing the tree
Nor questioning it
For growing too close by
Not dying to be in control
Not distorted by failure
Neither wanting an upper hand
Nor showing the power of self
Not thinking of itself
No craving to be better
To be mightier
To be above all
Ruling nothing
Giving no command
Looking still, aware,receptive
Empty is its self
So unlike its owner

Could I learn to change?
Manipulate and dismiss my mind
Or locate it, capture it, heal it
In the dimension of sharing
Stop giving it that power
To unbalance me
My compassion is guilty
The poor boy, the hungry dog
And my temporary compassion
My temporary guilt and pity
Flushed away
Photo out of sight
Compassion out of mind
All made impermanent
By wrong patterns of my mind
Wrong beauty of my heart
Help me Buddha
To help myself
To break open my heart
I need a steam jet car wash machine
To cleanse my mind
To have the golden heart of the poor boy
As attachment is still my self-made enemy
That undermines my compassion
Making it temporary, fading and distorted
Forgotten in time
Caged in a world ruled by self.

Emptiness
The killing of the thought
The confusion, the misunderstanding
Uprooting wrong view
The 'I'
The cravings
The belief in the self
All untrue
Burn the body of self
Kill it through meditation
Nothing is mine
Dig the roots of all sorrows
With nothing to rule
Nothing to direct
No desire to be a king
No one owns me
I own no thing
No one orders me
I rule no one
I chase nothing
Angry people, let them be
Aging,sickness, death is a parcel
I blame no one
Fear none
Refuse to struggle
To compare or cling
With the tamed 'I'
Empty is the self
Burnt to nothingness
No 'I', no 'you'
