Has anyone read or gotten a copy of this two volume set? It looks amazing, but too much for me to afford at this time. Hopefully sometime this year.

From the forward, by the editor:

My job was a lot easier. It was like weeding a forest. I just had to be careful not to remove the right words, and English grammar was really not a top priority. As long as the reader is able to grasp the essence of the text, its purpose is served.

With all due respect to the long hours they've put into this "translation", I find this sentiment completely unacceptable.

This 'reviewer' was very impressed with the very presence of the text: http://tibetanaltar.blogspot.com/2009/0 ... iewed.html

The price is $268 (Singapore$), which is about $215 US.

Is this Mani Kabum the same as the Karanda-vyuha Sutra?

Mani Kabum (Wyl. ma Ni bka' 'bum) - a collection of teachings and practices focused on Avalokiteshvara, attributed to King Songtsen Gampo and revealed as a terma by three different masters: the siddha Ngödrup, Nyangrel Nyima Özer, and Shakya Ö.
