If you are reading this, you probably are not having any problems reaching this site or logging-in, but if you know someone who is still having problems, please let them know that it is most likely their computer storing the old DNS IP. Have them follow these instructions:

Go to start menu
Go to run
type in: ipconfig /flushdns
enter

That will flush out the old DNS IPs that the computer stores in the cache for quicker browsing. Our website IPs all changed with the upgrade to the new server.

(there is a space between ipconfig and /flushdns)

Or have them try this link for other operating systems:
http://www.techiecorner.com/35/how-to-f ... ndows-mac/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

for those on ubuntu .
if you still cant acces the forum it means you might have an invalid DNS entry cached .
Open a terminal and install nscd daemon by running :
sudo aptitude install nscd.
Then flush DNS cache by running:
sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart

The first command doesn't work. But the page opens, which may mean that the problem has solved itself.

Well, maybe it's time the layout was changed, too? And colour, obviously. DW would look great in blue.

Can someone confirm if dharmawheel is working properly ?
Over the last few days i could only connect once or twice thinking that it works ok but afterwards i couldnt connect at all until now .
I have tried multiple solutions but nothing seem to work..different browsers,different OS,different computers flushing DNS,reloading pages,restarting....etc...
I wonder if there are some server configuration issues....

Yep, pretty much... if the colour gets changed to dark blue, then exactly like TARDIS! :jumping:

I was able to find it for the moment by using a proxy server!!??!! :rolleye: Most of the time that works, sometimes it doesn't.

If I can login directly (without proxy) I can be on a DW page, click to go to another page, and in a nanosecond it's dropped out of name space and can't be found.

Tried the trick of putting the IP in hosts file, no help.

I've notified David to let him know; he says they are checking on it.

Either there is some sort of virus on the Board that we keep passing back-and-forth that blocks the IP, or there is something seriously wrong with David's name server tables... maybe Nagarjuna has gotten in them! :jawdrop:

Well, since others are having the problem and post here, I imagine there are more having the problem who cannot find it at all. Using one of my favorite services (robtex.com), this is what I find:

--------------------------------------------
Sorry, we are currently missing dns information for http://www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also check dharmawheel.net.

http://Www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is ranked #457459 world wide as dharmawheel.net. It has 91 inlinks.

Reputation is not yet known. It is not listed in any blacklists. Search for dharmawheel.net.

Thedhamma.com is a domain controlled by two domain name servers at thedhamma.com themselves. We are missing the IP:s of two servers: ns2.thedhamma.com and ns1.thedhamma.com.

-------------------------

There is more dealing with the mailservers, but that's not really relevant...

So, there it is. First, the name servers need to be set with the DNS for http://www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; in addition to plain dharmawheel.net (the PPb software seems to pass http://www.dharmawheel.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; at times in links). Also, need to check why the name server IPs are not being propagated.

I've also had some trouble reaching dhammawheel.com. Seems it has the same problem:

Hope this is helpful.

Some more info; hope it is helpful for those who are still experiencing problems:

How to clear DNS cache for Windows and OS X:
http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/A ... owserCache" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I heard from my webmaster that if you are able to access the site via a proxy, then the problem has to be with your computer, lack of dns flush or something, not the Dharma Wheel site here.

Here is another site he just showed me:
http://www.isup.me/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

for those on 12.04 Precise Pangolin try running sudo /etc/init.d/networking force-reload .
This command did the trick for me but we will have to wait and see.
