New Guy
My name is Chris and I lived in Japan during the time when Buddhism became an interest to me. I studied some Nichiren and then went to Thailand and discovered Mahayana, which became my focus. I am new to all of this, with a very basic understanding of Buddhism. Thanks
Freedom cannot be forced into existence, nor can it be won through painful struggle. Freedom cannot be bought or sold. It has nothing to do with one’s social status; one’s profession is of no consequence. In order for you to accept yourself as you are and live with your soul at peace, you must simply teach yourself to let it be, only then will you discover freedom

Re: New Guy
Welcome Chris. I'm fairly new as well. There is lots of great info on here. Be sure to look around. And folks have been very helpful.
May all sentient beings have happiness and its causes,
May all sentient beings be free of suffering and its causes,
May all sentient beings never be separated from bliss without suffering,
May all sentient beings be in equanimity, free of ignorance, attachment and aversion.
