any idea what language it is? it's on a 17th century statue of a tsong khapa or something along those lines

It looks like:

Sra ram Oṃ pa tī gram

tu ra ba nā ma sa

Or

སྲ་རམ་ཨོཾ་པ་ཏཱི་གྲམ
ཏུ་ར་བ་ནཱ་མ་ས

Honestly, it seems to be fake Tibetan. Upload a pic of the front.

I wouldn't be surprised if the first 3 characters were "sri rama", and that might be "ravana" later on.
