The Language of the Eyes

Post by Kaore »

Enlightenment, I know what it is. Buddhahood I know what it is. I know how Gautama looks like.

Wanna know?

Enlightenment what it is. First of all, what is the Mind.

The mind is talkative, always talking this and that forever, Forever. The trouble is you think you are talking, that's the trouble. The trouble is your inability to know someone else than the Mind and the Mind either doesn't know that you are someone else even if somewhere the mind knows that you are far deeper.

The title of this topic is The Language of the Eyes and I posted this topic in Personal Experience, so you can guess that's my personal experience I am going to explain to you if you desire so. So enjoy.

Enlightenment is not something that is going to give you Light, or Wisdom or something that you don't know.
Whatever you think you know about the goal of all buddha's teachings is not it.

Why?
Because the Mind is thinking, not you. Who you are? Wanna know? What do you think if I am telling you that you are the one reading this and blinking with the Eyes, reading with the eye and blinking with the language of the eye?

This is my experience right now and I don't see further becoming from this. So I am going to be more clear to you. Whenever the Mind is talking saying 'I am bored' 'I love you' 'Are you listening?' 'you know you are interesting' 'I think you are boring' 'How do you do??' 'What if...' 'ok lol you are funny' 'humm please...' and so on and on and on... so whenever the mind is talking I am well established to my eyes, this is where I stand but the mind reading this will try to figure out and try to make you think that you are thinking with being ignorant.

Enlightenment is through intelligence discerning the mind talking from your own language which is the language of the eyes. Ok I am clear now.

Buddhahood is the soul, the self, the real one, me and you, buddha we are.

Gautama looks like me, I guess as Gautama had a particular intelligence that no one could figure out from the mind's perspectives. Now I know, blinking is understanding.

I am! Enlightenment is really subjective so you can't really know. If you are able to create Life for you own spirit, this is for me what Enlightenment is because the pressure of suffering is released. Suffering is to be found released.

Well, actually, there are objective criteria by which enlightenment can be measured.

Here are some of the physical characteristics, for example, of a Buddha (an enlightened one):

The 32 major characteristics are:

Level feet
Thousand-spoked wheel sign on feet
Long, slender fingers
Pliant hands and feet
Toes and fingers finely webbed
Full-sized heels
Arched insteps
Thighs like a royal stag
Hands reaching below the knees
Well-retracted male organ
Height and stretch of arms equal
Every hair-root dark colored
Body hair graceful and curly
Golden-hued body
Ten-foot aura around him
Soft, smooth skin
Soles, palms, shoulders, and crown of head well-rounded
Area below armpits well-filled
Lion-shaped body
Body erect and upright
Full, round shoulders
Forty teeth
Teeth white, even, and close
Four canine teeth pure white
Jaw like a lion
Saliva that improves the taste of all food
Tongue long and broad
Voice deep and resonant
Eyes deep blue
Eyelashes like a royal bull
White ūrṇā curl that emits light between eyebrows
Fleshy protuberance on the crown of the head

The eighty minor characteristics are:

Hi SD, this is something that has confused me (one of many things that has confused me actually  ) but what is the difference between enlightened and realized? The Buddha is enlightened, as in the enlightened one. Then we have a teacher like ChNN who is realized. Is he a Buddha in the same way Shakyamuni was? Or does realized mean a person has reached the first bhumi (and may be even further along the Bhumis, but not yet a Buddha)?

Also, are the 32 major characteristics something that a mundane person can see, or do you need pure vision (unafflicted) to see the Buddha as described. I love ChNN, but I'm pretty sure in the form I see him, since I have no realization, I don't see many of the 32 major and 80 minor characteristics.

Man if all that's true we'll never be Buddhas. We're all already enlightened because it can't be any other way, but 'we' can never be enlightened, only own own nature is enlightened I think. As soon as our deluded views, grasping and ignorance fade, there was a buddha there all along.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, I'm really not sure which school teaches all the characteristics.

Not even many Theravadins believe that, Greg. I don't think this is a good basis to refute some dude's on the internet claims of enlightenment (if there is any point to that at all. )

Folks have come on Buddhist fora and claimed enlightenment for as long as I can remember. As far as fora is concerned, enlightenment is as enlightenment does. Participate, shed light, share wisdom and that will be great! Claim all sorts of things, spout incomprehensibles and it will mean jack-sh**t.

To be fair with your contribution, I will quote Bodhidharma:

Buddha is Sanskrit for what you call aware, miraculously aware. Responding, arching your brows blinking your eyes, moving your hands and feet, its all your miraculously aware nature. And this nature is the mind. And the mind is the Buddha. And the Buddha is the path. And the path is Zen. But the word Zen is one that remains a puzzle to both mortals and sages. Seeing your nature is Zen. Unless you see your nature, it’s not Zen.
