Learning experiment with Shingon

Post by ananda »

What books should I collect to have a full understanding of the Shingon tradition ?
Are there any items that I should acquire :juggling: in order to practice it independently ?

Or can it be practiced without ritual items ?

Hi Ananda,

Unfortunately you can not acquire a full understanding of esoteric buddhist traditions from books or without a teacher but perhaps I've misunderstood your question. If you are interested in learning more of the historical and general doctrinal teachings of Shingon then there are a few books that might be of use and they're listed in this post: http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=154" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Best of luck.
