Re: HHST Chakrasamvara qoute
I really just was curious what an active mandala is versus an inactive mandala. What does it actually mean when HH says Chakrasmavara is still active?

Re: HHST Chakrasamvara qoute
“Unlike other mandala such as Hevajra or Kalachakra, the Chakrasamvara mandala is still fully manifested and active in the twenty-four holy places in India. For this reason, Chakrasamvara and his consort, Vajrayogini, are considered one of the most effective deities of our time.” Could anybody elab...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu
I'm looking forward to the WWT happening next month. Does anyone know of any videos available of the mudras involved for the Padmasambhava guru yoga? Also does anyone have a color image of Guru Dewa Chenpo as practiced in the DC?

Origin of Full Length Prostrations
I've heard that the tradition of full length prostrations comes from Tilopa. In his ngondro commentary, Dudjom Rinpoche also provides some short qoutes to a tantra that describes the benefits of this style of prostration. Does anyone have anymore info? Either quotes from tantras referencing full len...

Re: Deciphering Tibetan Buddhist titles?
I think Gyatso means ocean and Jamyang means "gentle voice". They are both part of their actual names, not titles. Unless of course they are inherited tulku names. Then it is sort of a title. To add to the list of titles above, I'm fairly sure that Situ was a title given to certain lamas b...

Re: Rinchen Terzod & Dudjom Tersar indexes
The one clear head of DT lineage is the one Dudjom Jigdrel Yeshe determined so in his letter, ie: Chatral Rinpoche. And after him the lineage head will be the current mind emanation of Dudjom Lingpa, Dudjom's grandson, that Chatral Rinpoche has solely recognized and is training in his three year re...

Re: Garchen Rinpoche Achi Drolma Empowerment
I think there might be some slight confusion. I am fairly sure that the particular sadhana that the person has is for Pema Lingpa's Guru Dragpo; Rinpoche's empowerment was for Nyang Ral Nyima Özer's Guru Dragpo. Maybe this is still ok. I don't know enough about the differences between the two to com...

Re: Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche
Yes, that description is what prompted me to ask this question. Because there is not additional information provided, I can't help wondering if that is a mistake and they meant to write that he is the "emanation of a terton".

Requesting Empowerment
What is the proper etiquette for requesting an empowerment from a lama? If the lama is being asked to perform the empowerment at their own center, is it still assumed that the person who requests the empowerment will cover all its costs?
