Re: Stagnant sanghas, teachers not teaching

Due to the described, my own felt sangha became virtual and rime. I have no interest to share time with sangha members who keep their practise private (I think you can exchange with others and have no understandeing for the "ask the Khenpo" attitude. Sometimes I have particuliar questions ...

Re: When are you teaching dzogchen?

problem is when people read a book and think they absolutely know, when people belong to a tradition and believe they own or should guard something else, when they do super secret practices and think that the method is the path instead of a mere vehicle. and then, some get into endless philosophica...

Re: Inherent Existence? (continued)

continued from https://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?p=380114#p380114 Inherent existence is the belief that things exist independently of ourselves. This belief may or may not be accurate but cannot be known by mind. Mind only knows things subjectively but mistakenly objectifies things and ascr...

Re: Recitations after Time of Death

Before death: remind of the process (you are about to die, relax) / read from the Bardo Thödol During Tukdam (time between breathe stopped and first livores mortes): shut up, be present In the first Bardo: read the text he/she practised most. Remind (you are dead now, make wise choices) I found this...

Re: Dealing with the Blues through Practice

I see in myself a tilting towards nihlilism which easily fuels depressive mood. I once talked to a translator because the Teacher didnt seem to reply to my question about coping with depression. I found out that there is no good translation into Tibetan. The kind of depression they know is for situa...

tombstones

A friend died last Wednesday. Buddhist sangha member, other part of the world, we never met.

Does Dharma Wheel have something like a columbarium? If not is it worth having it?

I feel like wanting to leave a virtual flower for her but don't know where.

Re: Dream Yoga struggles

The capacity to clear light dreaming is independent from the capacity to see and steer and later remember your dreams. Think of what you want. I had some success with dreadming lucidly (and remembering) through high doses of Vitamin B before going to sleep. And being in environments of pure elements...

Re: Dzogchen and thoughts

Firstly, as you probably know, TIbetan has another language sourcing, they have mor words which for us all translates into "mind" (like the Inuit and the snow). The instruction to abstain from conventional thinking aims for bringing the noise down in order to have the ciscumstances to list...

Re: how can one be more compassionate?

Just for background info: my mom has a helper's syndrom and by being her daughter I have often experienced to being too quickly and unconsentedly disowned of my problems (and I've oftentimes seen that happening to others too). Through my own trekchod and the consequences thereof I'd dare to say that...

Rest with the experience and the happening, do not let your mind seek explanations.

Just cherish the moment of phenomenon without feeling special.

By havinig said so, do I always succeed marking my own words? - No

Re: Treasury of Lives: Women Initiative

I'd love to see a wider commitment
from the side of the male VIP's

Maybe by implementing a minimum percentage of female tulkus by 2026

Or by being committed to be reborn as a female

speaking for Germany (don't know for other countries): please don't tear from the wild. Grow your own.
A common place btw is a ground-covering species for planting on graves
Hence some Chöd element in your Sang 8-)

place to stay: McLeod Ganj

Hi there, anyone with a recommendation for a decent hostel/hotel in McLeod Ganj?
It seems to be a both steep and crowded place... some places have scam ratings...
With thanks.
