I don't have time to check it right now, but the Wylie transliteration seems to be embedded in this document: http://piligrim0.narod.ru/KuntuzangpoMonlamNew.html Also, you can find the Tibetan text in unicode here: http://www.lotsawahouse.org/bo/tibetan-masters/rigdzin-godem/prayer-of-kuntuzangpo a...

Re: what do we mean by faith?

He said; "It's enough to have an aspiration that it's true." I could do that and kept practising...... I believe it is impossible to bully yourself with self-will into having faith. All that is needed is an open and respectful mind, a sincere heart, and gentle, consistent, patient non-graspin...

Re: Acer to market 'smart prayer beads'

Stupid question, but why count them, anyway? Wouldn't it be better to practice until the signs appear? How did this come about that it was important to count mantras? Well, there are different ideas about this but, for example, in terms of daily practice I find it helpful to do a set amount of a gi...

Re: Acer to market 'smart prayer beads'

Wouldn't that be true with beads too? Have you used beads before? You don't have to push or press anything. You just flick the tip of your thumb very gently. When you're done, if it's a bracelet, you can just tuck your thumb under, flay the fingers out, and the bracelet's back on and you're carryin...

Re: "One Mind" in Hua Yen thought

I'm kind of feeling the need to justify my alienation from 'ordinary' life, so I thought I might leap into the discussion with the entry from "The Princeton Dictionary of Buddhism" on this topic:

Pushing a button can be hard on the thumb after a while if you're doing high numbers of recitations daily.

Wouldn't that be true with beads too?

I don't really understand what the point of the beads is. Why not just use one of those digital clicker thingies?

Where did you find an English subtitled version of this? I can't even find a place where I can buy it. There is a YouTube upload, but it only has Vietnamese subtitles.
Via illegal download ways such as torrents.

Re: Pure vision, what's up with?

My late teacher, an important terton, said if you want to be a terton, the only real requirement is faith in Guru Rinpoche. If you supplicate him strongly enough with genuine compassion for sentient beings, then you might be able to reveal terma. In addition, I believe Naropa has a degree p...

All mundane joy becomes dukkha. Or as a current teacher puts it, 'all emotions are pain' ..given time.
Which does not mean that we should not enjoy it while it lasts.
But we need to have realistic expectations.

Re: The straying of new sentient beings

I'm in the camp of those who think that new beings can arise because of the following: (1) beings are countable phenomena and therefore can never be countably infinite in reality. There is a teaching of the Buddha somewhere that the sattvadhātu, while infinite in number, is fixed, and does not incr...
