I don't remember ChNN using this Dakini in his Chod.
ChNN's Chod sadhana does feature Throma Nagmo as the yidam (although one may substitute Simhamukha for her, too).

For us ordinary people I can only say: we all try our best. Everyone has a different background. Sometimes I think that the real siddhi is to be compassionate and modest. I certainly am far from that.
Exactly what I keep hearing from my teachers.

Re: Enlightenment

Sure meaningless drudgery is one of the faults of samsara. And that had to be recognized before one turns the mind toward dharma. But that doesn’t mean dharma is a vacation, because vacations are also a meaningless spoil of time and carry disappointments. Dharma is meant to be a joyful endeavor. Al...

Re: Open Heart/Kim Katami and Song of Vajra

Hello, does anybody know anything about this group? They will be giving lung (although they call it empowerment) to Song of Vajra and some text by longchenpa. Does anyone know anything about them? It seems kinda fake-ish. https://www.facebook.com/events/402470300219298/ http://www.en.openheart.fi/3...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

I guess it all boils down to this:

One can use the Dharma as a vehicle of liberation. Once can also use it as an identity-building project.

EOT as far as I am concerned.

There are many other not restricted texts that discuss this matter in any case. If you are saying there is a secret way to interpret it where the meaning is reversed, I don't think this makes any sense.
Talk to to Elio or Jim if you really want to know, as simple as that. You have their e-mails.

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

Disparaging refers to pointing out the faults of these religions to their followers, being contemptuous or offensive. It does not mean one should not see their errors. In this case even bringing up disparaging other religions is completely out of place as this is a Buddhist forum. Actually, what I ...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

In what way?? Which text says that we should not point out the errors of tirthika dharmas? No clue. But I have heard it, often very strongly stated, from every single Vajrayana teacher I have received teachings from. ChNN was particularly adamant here. More than once, too. Garchen Rinpoche says tha...

To have aversions towards other belief systems and disparage them is also against Buddhadharma & Dzogchen. In what way?? Which text says that we should not point out the errors of tirthika dharmas? No clue. But I have heard it, often very strongly stated, from every single Vajrayana teacher I have ...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

There's a quote by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche that I've come across a couple of times, could somebody tell me where it's from? “Most Westerners receive a Christian education and in the Christian tradition God is very diffused. God is recognized as something outside. They don’t know that God is ...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

Btw, Garchen Rinpoche shares ChNN's opinion on Jesus and Mary, too. As does Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. And at least one of TUR's sons. And, at least when it comes to Mary, Lopon Ogyan Tanzin Rinpoche. I could go on, but of course there is no point. Those who reject these equivalencies/similarities/af...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

Nah, not Chhimed Rigdzin. He was brutally honest. He would not have said it if he hadn't meant it. Also, when Tibetans say such things out of courtesy they make a meaningless blah blah statement like "x is a good spiritual teacher" but they don't say things like "I'd prostrate to him." Besides, a f...

Re: Quote by ChNNR about Dzogchen and God - where is it from?

Remains the problem that Rinpoche's understanding of god has little to do with the christian concept of god. It has, if you read e.g. Nicolaus Cusanus, Meister Eckhardt, St. Augustin or Tillich. Or St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and even such heterodoxy-averse mystics as Tauler. A theo...

Re: Did the 84 mahasiddhas practice Ngöndro?

Sakyas did not have a seperate ngondro text, as such, but they always had preliminaries. The idea of counting them all 100,000 at a time seems to be a relatively recent innovation. In the past, when doing a retreat one typically did each for a week or a month, depending one's time. It seems that Dr...

Re: Garchen Rinpoche Chakrasamvara Empowerment & Ganges Mahamudra

Are there typically daily practice commitments as a part of the samaya for receiving Chakrasamvara for Garchen Rinpoche? I remember Rinpoche saying the root samaya is Bodhichitta. As GR has said: Even though you have received many empowerments, if you understand the nature of the deity, you underst...
