While there are underlying physical aspects of addiction the self inflicted suffering our minds facilitate are the biggest catalyst to behavior that undermines our being. Reminds me of the phrase free your mind and the body follow. So it has to do with Buddhist pratice and understanding Behavior? . .

Well... I've only quit cigarettes. I got nothin for anything else. But also, Buddha wasn't a drug counselor. I don't think he gave any advice directly applicable to say opioid addiction though I imagine his counsel could be adapted to help such circumstances. I understand from friends who've kicked...

Through practice by dropping some of the negativities that affect body speech and mind. (To become a better person and have Compassion for thoughts and feelings.) etc. Also being more considerate of others. Then it goes onto Contemplation and some Meditation.
