Re: boring questions about losing weight

I managed to lose 30 lbs. over a period of months by cutting down on high calorie starches like potatoes and bread and cutting sugar out. It's really important to just drink water or unsweetened tea rather than juices or sugary drinks. That one vector alone can account for a huge amount of calories ...

Re: Dudjom Yangsi Dorje Drollö empowerment Toronto

Probably not Pema Sogthig. Probably the outer Drollo sadhana, both are mind treasures. Hmmmm... i wonder. He mentioned it was Dudjom Rinpoche's heart practice as well as his own. Are the root mantras the same? That would be one way to determine. Identical. I have received them both. Pema Sogthig is...

This is how a republic ends
The lion is an apex predator, but will be brought down by a parasite in its bowels.
Or in this case in the White House.

Re: Football World Cup.

Soccer is a great sport, but the dives and cheaters are bad for the sport, imo. There are far too many players doing fake dives; it is basically cheating, imo. It is dishonest from a Dharmic perspective, un-sportsmanlike and has no place in sport. In (ice) hockey it is rarely to almost never done, ...

I don't like football much but I was rooting for Croatia. Shame. :(
I am outraged at the result. There was a CLEAR referee error! After Brozovic megged Pogba with a backheel, they should have stopped play and awarded Croatia the trophy. How could they miss that?!

Re: Football World Cup.

Football really is a dramatic sport of epic proportions unlike anything else. You a Bills fan? Kevin... When I say football, I mean that thing you Americans refer to as "soccer"... :D Yes, broken down it is: foot - played with the feet ball - a round object As opposed to American "football": hand -...

http://www.interglacial.com/pub/text/Umberto_Eco_-_Eternal_Fascism.html Here's an interesting article by Umberto Eco on what Fascism is. I too get a little tired of anything autocratic and totalitarian being called "fascist", I think it's sloppy, imprecise, and could quite possibly lead to boy-who-...

Unfortunately, Mexico loses.

In the Belgium win, what a goal in the final seconds! The team literally sprinted down the field to score in the final seconds.
What a crazy second half! That Vertonghen header was redonculous.

Re: Football World Cup.

Referees did a disappointingly poor job with overseeing the penalties: https://drp-images.nettavisen.no/images/article/2018/07/01/3423509236/1/w650/5388086.jpg This image shows Russian goalkeeper being nowhere near the goal line, which is where they should be when taking a penalty. The keeper only ...

Germany go out as Leroy Sane watches from home... Holy shit! Another favourite bites the dust. The World Cup is being hosted by Russia and Vladimir Putin, so of course Russia advances. :spy: (just kidding) There were a couple of questionable calls, as usual. Something has to be done about ...

Would an enlightened guru ever have mundane sex?
First of all, why not? Second of all, what is an "enlightened guru" in your eyes?
If the sex is mundane, ur doing it wrong.

Re: Scary Liberal Views and Policy Positions?

I agree that a business should be able to refuse to provide services in the case of being asked to support things they do not (the Nazi example is apropos there), but in some of these cases that is not what happened at all. What happened was some gay people ordered a cake and got turned down solely...

Councils in the UK are bankrupt due to social care costs, so elderly patients remain in the NHS, which is now having to cancel many categories of operation. They do not need additional demands from tiny minorities who may be perfectly sincere but not facing death. Yes, those are the choices. They a...

Last night Sean Hannity (Fox News contributor) said, “many are hailing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a rising star on the political landscape but in reality, her views, her policy positions, are actually downright scary.” And then showed a graphic outlining her platform: “Medicare For All” “Housing A...

If you think I am pro-discrimination, you are right - we need to discriminate between the important and the trivial. If you think I am in favour of giving unequal treatment to people for any reason, you are wrong..very wrong. But I am going to stand up for what is fair and reasonable and for priori...
