Re: Lama's that teach 100% rentention

I first came in to this forum all over-the-top on some new-age-wannabe-Buddhadharma that takes one aspect of Tantrayana sexual practice and runs with it as if it's the be-all end-all of everything, not knowing much about the importance of the secrecy of Vajrayana; and even though there may be much t...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Earlier I'd said that I agree with Pensum; although I did read Pensum's post somewhat hurriedly, so better said I partially agree with Pensum. As to why I now say partially (and this is taking all of Pensum's posts in this thread into consideration), I don't want to say; because I feel uncomfortable...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Fair enough. Actually, considering that it is a possibility that H.E. Garchen Rinpoche could intend that even the webcast recordings are sufficient as well, I was out of line in commenting on this. In fact I'd appreciate it if the mods here would delete my posts and any quoting of my posts in this t...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Sherab Dorje, I think that any authentic Lama could empower their webcasts in such away that one can receive Transmission from the recordings after the live stream is over, if it is their specific intention to empower the webcast recordings that way. It seems most Teachers only empower with their in...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Johnnydangerous, Yes that's the quote I posted a link to earlier. If anyone feels they can receive teachings from H.E. Garchen Rinpoche via webcast recordings, then maybe they can. It's just that in regard to that mentioned quote, I don't know who relayed that information and if they understood H.E....

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

I guess you didn't read the whole thing? It's addressed specifically, go back and read the whole thread please. Well I'd addressed the other post I think you're referring to, right here: http://dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=16286&p=229289#p229261 All I'm saying is that the ones who relayed t...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Did you not read the thread? It was directly said , here let me repost it: http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=14135 The mentioned post looks like it is referring to receiving the teachings online via live webcast. I didn't see anything there about recordings. Perhaps some are not getti...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

...but I do cringe slightly when people very casually recommend around here that they take empowerment from him online simply because he is the only one who is doing so in such an open, flexible, and convenient manner. I can't quite articulate why, but from a motivation and examine-your-guru standp...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

Did anybody here say that one cannot receive the Blessings during H.E. Garchen Rinpoche's online live webcasts? It seems to me that the only thing in question here is the recordings of the webcasts; and that a couple individuals here would prefer to attend in person as opposed to webcasts. I don't t...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

To clarify my previous post, I was not discouraging anyone from making a connection to Garchen Rinpoche via webcast. I'm only saying that since I've not heard from H.E. Garchen Rinpoche directly that the recordings (not be confused with the online live webcast streams) are sufficient, I personally w...

Re: Validity of recorded empowerments

http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=14135#p186605 Even so^, I agree with Pensum on this. Better to err on the safe side and attend webcasts live, because we can't be sure that the ones who responded to Karma Dorje in the quoted email correspondence in the above-linked post didn't misunde...

Re: Underweight worse then being overweight?

Hi Nemo, I meant that being underweight and not eating processed foods (I'll settle for meaning process foods in general for now in support of my arguement) would be better than being overweight and eating processed foods. And as I said it makes sense to me that being a little overweight while eatin...

Re: Underweight worse then being overweight?

Depends on the factors involved. If one is overweight due to consuming things like high-fructose corn syrup, msg, white flour, hydrogenated oils, or has metabolism problems partially due to big-pharma drugs and exposure to endocrine-disruptors & other synthetic-chemicals found in hand-soaps, cleanin...

Anyway, Jay-Z never did anything this nice (and neither has Wu-Tang Clan for that matter): Akbar – Live Long http://y...

Re: The Dalai Lama Says Gay Marriage Is OK

It is off-topic, Malcolm, so I won't attempt to refute some of your previous posting right now. Now since I've drifted away somewhat from my previous 'perennialist' convictions over the past couple years, I could say that I—like many other posters here—am overall not very much into the 'Abrahamic fa...
