Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Dorje Drollo retreat/webcast feb 2012 . Hi Rinpoche gave a Dorje Drollo retreat and open Webcast in early 2012, which I received. Can anyone advise if there is a recording available, or a document of some sort with the practice instruction in.... and if so where they can be found. Many thanks.

Re: Dharma etiquette – the little things

I think it makes most teachers' day when someone makes it to them before they've been stifled by the dharma cops and have had a whole lot of insecurities projected on them. It might surprise those who take it upon themselves to correct others, but good teachers are generally fond of open and sincere...

Re: New Nyingma Head

I think the distinctive figure-head role has some significance and is useful as a rallying point for our otherwise scattered energies. The distinctive feature has been that we elect our "best and brightest," "most realized" if you will to represent everything that's great about ...

Re: New Nyingma Head

Something I've often wondered....why is it neccesary to have a 'Head of Nyingma'? Where and when does 'Nyingma' need representing, given that it is really just a collection of lineages with their own heads and who all take care of their own affairs. Or is it because every one else has one? Or a cont...

Re: Defilements and projections onto other people

The reason I can't take teachers who mix up Dharma with other stuff seriously is simply because if they did understand Dharma as well they claim, they would understand and appreciate that it is complete and whole in itself ; there is nothing that needs adding whatsoever. That's my personal feeling a...

Re: Why end suffering?

I suspect we've got a bit of semantic funk going down here aswell, as far as how we define 'suffering'... I've been taking it to mean being any state other than complete enlightenment. Given that complete enlightenment is our true nature; suffering is pointless. It is the product of the dualistic mi...

I agree. I've emailed the owner of the site you linked. Will post reply. This is the reply from Aloka David Smith: 'The teaching has been on the group website for some years, and from memory I found it on a website somewhere so I have no knowledge of its origin or any other information. I'm sorry I...

Re: Why end suffering?

We could go round in circles with this thread. The bottom line is that for Buddhist practice to really work, you have to see and experience suffering to whatever degree it takes for you to be moved on a visceral level to free yourself and others from it. So really it's a waste of time trying to conv...

Re: Why end suffering?

Why on earth would you want to suffer if you didn't have to? Or, more's the point, wish it upon any else if it was unneccesary? Are you saying that without suffering you couldn't experience happiness, sort of thing? Like if it wasn't for enduring winter you couldn't enjoy the onset of spring? I don'...

Did you just want to look at what was available or were you looking for something specific....when I have ordered it has been from online stores that are specific to the lineage?
I guess that's a long way of saying, what are you after?

Re: 108 Springs Chod in Scotland

There are wild, ugly spirits flying all over the place, and they’re making people crazy. People think it’s because of coffee that they’re thinking like this, but there are also spirits afflicting their minds. It seems like an ironic situation; as the world gets more and more disturbed and imbalance...

Re: Dzogchen Practice in Everyday Life

I have wondered about it simply because it is a very 'open' teaching and I've found it to have a different style to other teachings, and I guess because I've never seen a reference to it, and i've only seen it on the web, it's made me wonder. If it's an original work then that's all good. edited 'gr...
