Re: Source of everything

What i find interesting is that everything happened. I mean, it didn't have to happen. It could have been that there was never any existence of anything, no time, space, universe. nothing had to ever occur but it did, and here we are. That just blows my mind. oooooooooooooooooooooooo :alien: . . . ...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

Obviously there is no self. Are you sure about that? Yep. Although Ive looked at great lengths, again and again I dont find anything I can call "me". Theres nothing I can confidently display to anyone and say "SEE! Here I am!". Maybe your results are different from my own. Awareness that is self-co...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

And its saying that this awareness transcends the discursive thinking of beings. If beings had no discursive thinking, then they would not need to practice anything and would already be established in awareness. Do you really think that "awareness" means "awareness" ? I'm aware, right now, as are y...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

Reality is simply the experiences of Samsara and Nirvana. Both of these are conceptual experiences that are transcended when we abide in Buddha Nature. Are you sure about this? Yep. You cant point to anything and say "this is reality" without it being either Samsara or Nirvana. Samsara is experienc...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

I don't know if this relates to your "discussion" but I thought it prudent to highlight the following; " Beings with discursive thinking"... It's not actually explicitly saying that. That's your own interpretation. It's saying that Realization of Awareness leads to freedom. And its saying that this...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

You describe Buddhanature as a location or position that is arrived at when concepts are transcended. What is the difference between deep sleep, where there are no concepts, and Buddhanature? You also suggest that I have said reality is permanent. I haven't said that. Ironically if you propose that...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

I would speculate that whilst you might know alot about the mind, you don't really know that much about life. You do realize that you constantly resort to ad hominem remarks? This isn't ad hom. You say that there is no reality. Saying that there is no reality is the same as saying there is no life....

Re: Is all knowing state same as Higher Self?

My understanding is this... Since all labels whatsoever are merely conceptual designations, we *could* call Buddha Nature the "higher self", but to do so would be to easily lead astray anyone who hears us speak of Buddha Nature as the higher self who doesn't understand our meaning. Since the meaning...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

Objective? "It" is beyond subject, object and action. Objective condition here means a 'reality' that has 'existance' (in whatever way) that is seperate from the mind that perceives it. How can anything the mind perceives be separate from that mind? Its said the minds nature is like a mirror, so wh...

Re: Chanting in Amitabha name :(

No matter what, the Buddha cannot force you to be enlightened. For that, you must make an effort and do it yourself, for yourself and for all sentient beings. Therefore we do practices like mantra and so forth to make it easier for a Buddha like Amitabha to connect with us. If we dont make an effort...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

Sorry, but when I use the term Presence, I don't have a Tibetan word in mind. Then I have no idea what you are taking about. It is useful to have Tibetan words in mind when you are making claims about Dzogchen doctrine. The objective condition is right in front of you. Here it is now. Calling it 'P...

Re: Dating and following Dharma...Why is it so difficult to

Its best to refrain from talking about or displaying ones practice. There is no sense in it and unless you uphold good conduct it might create negative or wrong views in the minds of others towards Dharma in general. Listing oneself as a practitioner of Tantra will mislead almost everyone since ever...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

If one holds the mind as a series of discrete mental moments, then by definition, there is a gap between one discrete moment and the next. In the gap, there cannot be any consciousness and therefore knowledge. Consequently, there is no guarantee that the transition from one discrete moment to anoth...

Re: The basis is one's unfabricated mind

Question for anyone who might know, if the basis is ones own fabricated mind, how is my unfabricated mind connected to Dharmadhatu? What is the supreme, primordial reality and how does my personal basis abide in it, what is the relationship between these two things (my personal basis, and the univer...

1. The infinite oneness that I remember as being far more real than ordinary existence; How can we know that this isn't just the true nature of our individual minds, and not a shared conciousness that contains all conceptions? The Great Perfection is non-dual. Its a subtle distinction between that ...

You want proof of the six realms? Go into any major downtown city and observe. You will see Humans going about their business, discussing politics, engaging hope and fear, falling in love. You will see Asuras full of jealousy and greed, driving nice cars but wanting nicer, seeking to take the wealth...

Re: Online videos of Tummo

Without Shamatha, I fail to see how you could even practice Tummo. So work on that first, assuming you havent already. If you have achieve quiescence, then you could start seeking a Tibetan Buddhist Guru and start whatever preliminaries they require before teaching you Tummo.
