Re: Catuṣkoṭi analysis used by the Buddha himself

I don't recall the Buddha actually using the Catuṣkoṭi form of analysis himself. I can only recall the Buddha using it only in relation to its use by his opponents. Would appreciate if someone could provide examples in the Suttas or Sutras where the Buddha himself resorted to Catuṣkoṭi analysis in ...

Re: What Shamatha tradition best prepares one for Dzogchen?

In other words, Is the Vissudhimagga standard for attaining Jhana and Shamatha necessary for the attention to one-pointedly focus on the Rigpa? Or Kamalashila's or other Sutta style Jhanas? Where on the sliding bar standard of light to deep Jhanic abosrption is sufficient to begin being exposed to ...

Shadows on the cave walls?
As long as you realize that the fire at the back of the cave and the sun outside are also merely shadows on the walls of a cave.

What, for you, is emptiness … in a nutshell?
Every thing is an echo.

Every thing is a mirror.

We’re all ignorant of ignorance until we realize emptiness.
There's no such thing to realize.

You're on the wrong forum for that kind of prayer...
I know. But still, if Croatia wins I will sacrifice a goat to Ahura Mazda I don't care.

Amazing run by England. I thought they would of gotten knocked out in the earlier rounds. France will now defeat Croatia.

The Buddhist view of emptiness is an epistemic insight into the misconception of ontological entities which reveals ontology is truly impossible.
Negation of ontology is also impossible.

Re: Big messages to deplorables ???

It is not my fault if I point out that "you" are racist or a bigot or a fool. I am just pointing it out. It is up to "you" to work on these issues, if "you" wish too. My white privilege just got so bored it had to walk to the fridge of its mobile home in between NASCAR commercials while humming the...

Re: Big messages to deplorables ???

You take seriously the concerns of the Trump base that led them to vote for him in the first place, which are primarily economic. You stop calling them morons, stupid, deplorables, and racists, which alienates them further and keeps reconciliation at bay. If you use these insults around dharma cent...

Re: Big messages to deplorables ???

The very title of this thread has persuaded me that Trump is certain to win reelection. And you people will be the ones to do it, not his "base". As long as everyone remembers which basket they live in, there will be no other candidate.

Re: "Wild Wild Country" - Osho documentary on Netflix

I wonder how the film would pan out if it were about Trungpa and Shambhala in those days. We would see a group who seemed to play out with militarism, there was sexual abusive activity, there was an adoring group of followers and a charismatic leader who liked dressing up. Those times...70’s and 80...

Re: Mipham: Gelug = Svatantrika Madhyamaka

It was actually a very specific question: How to Gelugpas deal with Mipham? His arguments are very specific, I assume their responses are also very specific.
