Re: Thoughts on Dzogchen without buddhism?

Here we go back on topic. Dzogchen without Buddhism, without an unbroken lineage of realization, transmission and practice is populated by demons and will break your heart, your mind and ruin your life. Correct. And like the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. People like t...

Re: Football World Cup.

Anyone apart from me interested? I'm mildly interested since I can watch all the matches via streaming (which is convenient since I don't have a TV, though I won't watch all of them of course). But the days of being so interested in football that I scream at the ref or call a random player a [harsh...

Is this webcast?
It says in the first post: "(Please Note: These events will not be webcast, as Khenpo indicated that the teachings are secret and the Phowa is a closed retreat.)"

Re: Naga Offering

Naga should be the easiest spirits to call up, if you judge by how easy it is to call up snakes. Far easier than foxes or ravens. Can't you just "wing it" ? Nonsensical post. No sense of humor? LOL, get over it. In actuality you can call up both animals as well as "divine spirits" so you may think ...

Interesting to browse but he sure could use some basic web formatting skills, the site looks like all websites used to in 1996.

Re: Help me with a difficult family conversation.

I do not fish anymore. Which in itself as far as decisions goes, can be very hard to explain given the country I come from, and the long tradition for fishing in my extended family as a whole, either as a leisurely activity (for catching food) or as ones actual profession. I really did enjoy fishing...

Re: Bhadrakalpika Sutra

Could you possibly tell us the Sanskrit name of the 6th Buddha (the one after Maitreya)? In the Tibetan tradition this is said to be variously Senge (Wyl. seng ge; Skt. Simha), Drukpa Senge, or Senge Namdrel. Seeing the original Sanskrit from the Bhadrakalpika Sutra would help clarify the words beh...

Re: Pure Land practice and Vajrayana (HYT)

How many of you have practiced Vajrayana? Have you received anuttara-yoga-tantra or inner tantra initiation? Can you practice both? Can you maintain and purify samayas with Amituofo? Do you feel you can achieve rebirth there solely with Amituofo-chant? Can you rely exclusively on other power with s...

Yeh, insulting other ones teachers and also here the members in public that should always be avoided, out of respect, so i have learned that by the years. But sometimes it happens. I have nothing but respect for Loppon Tenzin Namdak, but I think the Bonpos are mistaken on this particular point. YMM...

Re: Dzogchen and Mahamudra: differences and similarities

Yes, but that takes three incalculable eons, not in one lifetime. But the point of contention has been whether sutrayana method can or not and not about the length of time each methods will require. That said, I have been wondering the stance that sutrayana takes three incalculable eons to attain p...

What is everyone's opinion of Mahamudra and Dzogchen? How good are they? Are they similar in a way? They're both pretty cool, and really good (some might argue they're the best). They're both similar depending on how you view it, but also very different depending on how you view it, but ultimately ...

I of course would want for these things like yidams and so on to be respected, even not ever used and abused by those who have not received them and are not qualified to receive them. But I also understand that in this kind of world, a world inhabited by sentient beings, that is not really ever goin...
