Re: Santa La Muerte

First thing that comes to mind is that creepy scene with Tuco's cousins in Breaking Bad. That seemed sweet to me, but I haven't seen the show. I assume that they are bad guys and that, in context, it's creepy. Let's just put it like this: T...

Re: Is there Buddhism without rebirth?

I think a lot of that is meta premised still in dualism. And dualism is a problem because? But I was just kind of getting at in general that that kind of proof in a university higher level philosophy of mind class would not be well accepted. That's before even going into Philosophy of language and ...

Re: sexual harrassment & sexual assault in the US

Yup. I drank vodka, cider and 95% spirytus at a dinner before. Never behaved oddly, did feel nauseous when I got home but that was it. My man it's not only what you drank, it's how much you drank and what your tolerance is. Also not everyone reacts same way (some people just fall asleep), w...

Re: Is there Buddhism without rebirth?

Rebirth is the flying spaghetti monster of Buddhism. It is an item of faith. It cannot be demonstrated either empirically or logically. Like any other item of faith (God, free will, immortality, etc) it has only one purpose - to present the possibility of a course of action other than sticking a gu...

Does someone have the DC Red Garuda practice booklet in a pdf? I have misplaced mine.
DC will email it again.
I have the physical booklet, not an ebook.
AFAIK the ebooks are individually password protected, connected to the member that purchased it.

She either exists or she does not. If she does not, there's no need to worry. If she exists, she's worldly, so no need to get involved with her. As for practice, generate Bodhicitta and practice Lojong.

Re: How to understand the body correctly

If you really want to understand this topic from the Vajrayana/Dzogchen point of view you will need empowerments, transmissions, direct introduction etc. After that, there are English translations of works by Longchenpa and others that explain the topic clearly. Indeed. And then, having received th...

Re: How to understand the body correctly

In short: correct view of the body can help develop one's realizations, especially if you are combining 'paths of means' that involve yogic exercises with the 'paths of wisdom' that correct bodily view and method can bring about. Some people are more suited to the path of wisdom but even a minimal ...

Europe doesn't seem to have this problem. A rising political star and member of parliament here in Switzerland just resigned due to stalking and some other related behaviour. https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/politics/yannick-buttet_stalking-allegations-topple-swiss-politician/43726188 . Re: How to understand the body correctly

In a lot of different schools of Buddhism the body and or the yogic understanding is not given a lot of weight or very very subtle in it's appreciation. In Tibetan Buddhism it seems equal in understanding body and mind? I.e. Understanding how mind rides the different movements of the body and such....

How about those who skip the Theravada path and go straight to the Mahayana?
You do not have to start with Theravada first, then move on to Mahayana. That's a misconception.
