Re: Creating an aversion to the Dharma in someone

imagine if you have to hear imam fards (prayers) from your coworker even for 10 sec every time you pass her working station. I'd probably report to HR, workplace is not place for religious activities period, unless you do it privately and quietly.

Re: Is suicide OK?

I believe for Mahayana PoV killing a vessel (your own body) which may serve to bring sentience beings to enlightenment would be considered selfish
from Vajrayana PoV killing yourself (or anyone else for that matter) equals killing a Buddha

Re: Yaksha vs Rakshasa and the identity of Vaisravana

if we focus on Tibetan tantric tradition: - Dzambhala is not Vaisravana - he is either one of his generals or considered manifestation of enlightenment qualities of Avalokitesvara, - Kubera is also one of generals - there are 8 of them in mandala - riding horses: - Manibhadra holding a jewel - Atava...

Re: Saraswati and the Tenma

The easiest way to connect Saraswati and Tenma/Tseringma is to get empowerment and lung to practice of Palden Lhamo Magzor Gyalmo. Magzor Gyalmo is wrathful emanation of Saraswati. This from Gelugpa tradition. White Saraswati form is not particularly difficult to obtain in all 4 traditions - there a...

this is due to wishes of enlightened beings that whoever have good or bad karmic connections with them, should be enlightened in the same mandala

Re: Information on Sarasvati

Don't see the sadhana on there under "Dharma for Reading" and "Practice Texts," unless you meant in their online store which is currently only in Polish. Do you have a direct link? I'll have to look up your khenpo. Interesting that he was named after Vaishravana, god of wealth a...

Re: Dalai Lama about non sectarian approach towards Buddhist study and practice.

why the hell someone would be confused by different traditions or philosophical views? I refer you to this http://www.dharmawheel.net/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=24265 Just put an effort in understanding and learn history. What's the point of that? As Dalai Lama said, there is no danger here. Danger ...

Re: Dalai Lama about non sectarian approach towards Buddhist study and practice.

why the hell someone would be confused by different traditions or philosophical views? learning sophisticated language you are using in your debates here is more complicated probably then understanding different philosophical views (intellectually). Not to mention that many here have probably colleg...

Hey, don't have text with me atm (I'll check that later for you), but empowerment was given to me/us in Poland by Khenpo Namse Rinpoche in 90ties (former resident in Canada) and we had retreats on this form with him few times until he passed away. Text is available via http://www.benchen.org.pl/en/ ...

Re: Virtual reality and Dharma, many doubts about what to do

I think well done 3D or virtual visualisation support for some tantric sadhanas can be of huge benefit for practitioners. Instead of spending hours explaining and memorizing details of mandalas, one can be hooked up to such virtual display and have a "tour" inside. We've already saw some a...

that kind of fear comes from wrong understanding that enlightenment is some kind of super power phenomena, our mind become something else, we experience uplifted state of reality. that is wrong - according do scriptures - enlightenment is full integration, seeing the Truth, experiencing full wisdom ...

if I remember correctly blue stripe is a symbol of great Samye debate in presence of King Trisong Detsen where Padmasambhava with Shantarakshita defeat most venerated Bon scholars and Tibet officially adopted Buddhism.
