Re: The Three Heart Mantras used in Bon- (Nyingpo Namsum)

A question , what did cause, that you went for Bön (Dzogchen) ? Mutsug Marro KY. Hi Kalden Yungdrung! The same reason that I am practicing for many years in other Tibetan lineages. My path goes in circles. When one circle is completed, a new one is starting. In a spiral motion... The practical reas...

Re: DC Ganapuja question

Rinpoche is giving all Lungs of Anuyoga practices in every teaching (not during WWT though). So, somebody who has followed, at least, one teaching won't miss anything. From the other hand, lung is not the only thing which is required. Explanation is also necessary for knowing what we are doing duri...

Re: Keith Dowman's translations

My little contribution to this interesting discussion. Some great teachers have participated in Keith Dowman's books by writing the foreword, like Trinley Norbu Rinpoche, Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, Bhakha Tulku Pema Rigdzin etc. I'd like to share with you only a paragraph from the foreword by Chogyal N...

Re: ChNN's Yantra yoga: Transmission or no transmission?

IMPORTANT NOTE (to whoever might be interested): 1) Not all students of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche consider him as their boss. 2) Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche never encourages his students to develop attachment and public praise towards his face. Neither he encourages arrogant cult attitude i...

Re: Celibacy

Incidentally, I've often heard long-standing students of Rinpoche directly translate the English 'Boss' into their native tongues. Of course, everyone is free to call Rinpoche "boss", "chief", "captain", "lieutenant", or whatever it comes in his mind! Am I al...

Re: Celibacy

Your problem is entirely to with the fact that you are unfamiliar with all the nuances of current English Dronma.Which is hardly suprising. But this is an English language forum. The problem, if there is one, is yours. This forum is an international forum, dear. And you have to learn how to respect...

Re: Celibacy

I think this is a cultural thing. Using "boss" in this way is a term of endearment and respect in the US, and I imagine other Western countries. 1) Here it is not everybody from USA. Different cultures, different habits. It reminds me when in the past some of you had created in DW the thr...

Re: Celibacy

I believe there is a scene in "My Reincarnation" where Yeshi Namkhai refers to Rinpoche as "the boss". Khyentse Yeshi is Rinpoche's son! Yes, many of us refer to ChNN as "the boss" on a regular basis. He is our boss. If it is a joke, it shows a lack of respect. If it i...

Re: Any dzogchenpas ever feel the need to sell buddhist book

I am still having all my books here, not only books of Tibetan Buddhism (including Dzogchen), but also books of other philosophies, religions, literature, art etc. I like all of them. Once, many years ago, I was visiting one of my Tibetan Dzogchen teachers while I was holding in my hands a few new ...

Re: Celibacy

Actually, all the yantras can now be practiced as well as some of the pranayamas by people without having had transmission from the Boss. What you say used to be the case, but that has now changed. I don't think so, since I heard lately with my own ears Laura to explain what I have already written ...

Re: Jes Bertelsen?

The realizations are almost identical, however Dzogchen often considers that Mahamudra doesn't consolidate Buddhanature to the same degree, as Mahamudra still entails a partiality towards directionality insofar as the unconditioned. While Dzogchen consolidates it a bit more via this lack of partial...

Re: Rigpa vs. Nature of Mind

In ChNN's diction, "rigpa" is "instant presence": the recognition of the nature of mind. "being in it." the nature of mind (sems nyid) is something like a latent capacity that is unrecognized, right? so the difference between the two is being in on the secret, getting ...

Re: Dzogchen VS Mahamudra..why?

Different lineages of teachers, and different methods of practising. That's all. After all, does it matter through which path one will reach at the top of the mountain? Of course, the scenery of the routes through eastern path or through northern path is different, but since all routes lead to the ...
