Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Why would they have left? /magnus Malcolm left. Not sure exactly sure who else left, but I have seen posts that seem to indicate that there have been others following Malcolm out of here. Strange, username is super pro ChNNR, I don't get it. /magnus Dear Magnus As a card-carrying paid-up bear of li...

Re: Dzogchen in English

There actually is a kind of huge textbook, or encyclopedia, of the Nyingma tradition, comprised of many volumes, that is being translated mainly by Lama Ngawang Zangpo (with some parts being tackled by Gyurme Dorje). This is a 19th century publication written by Choying Topden Dorje for the benefit...

Re: Departure

Dear Friends: The time has come for me to bid adieu to this particular forum. You know how to find me via my blog, http://www.atikosha.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I will not be checking back in so there is no point in replying this post. Malcolm What can I say? I h...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Isn't it the case that if you are attending the webcast and lose parts of it, you still receive what Rinpoche intended? Maybe an experienced DC practitioner could confirm this. I hope that you are right: I did try my best under the circumstances to follow the instructions given even when my connect...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Frustration ... my Internet commitment is intermittent and I have been trying for well over a year to get the telecommunication company to fix this. Sometimes the connection is fairly stable, but lately it has been extremely unstable. This makes it difficult, but not impossible, to follow the webcas...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Would somebody mind PMing me the mantra that turns bad days good? I'm getting oral surgery on a day when my bLa is going to be between my neck and temples (figures...), so I'm a bit worried about doing some damage to my bLa. I've received the mantra a few times, but I've never seen it written out. ...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Is there a biography of Rinpoche? The closest to a biography that I know of is an article, Paolo Roberti di Sarsina, "Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche: Dzogchen and Tibetan Tradition From Shang Shung to the West", Religions 2012, 3 163 - 182. The url for Religions is http://www.mdpi.com/jou...

Both sound and video are freezing often, albeit for shorts periods in the current webcast. Are others experiencing this? I'm losing important things every couple of minutes.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

It's in Longsal volume 7. Rinpoche gave this teaching once already this year but I don't remember when. In any case it's a great teaching. A bit more like first you do this then you do that etc. if I remember right. After the Tokyo retreat, if I remember well (or right before). Rinpoche also gave t...

Forgive me for being pedantic, but I think that you mean analogy (or perhaps metaphor) rather than allegory.

It is prudent to assume that he will not. Day 1 of retreats are always flagged for DI.

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Just giving a beginner's view. Tune into the first session and 'we begin with Guruyoga' . Eh ? Oh, and afterwards you find there was DI ? I'm sorry but I really don't get it. He usually explains GY on the first day and how can you not know there was a DI? I recall being confused when I followed my ...

Re: Dzogchen Community of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu

Very simple: "A teaching on Dzogchen." :) (As far as suggesting the book "Guruyoga", that won't help as it's restricted. I echo the recommendation of "The Crystal and the Way of Light", as reading material.) Dzogchen: The Self-Perfected State is a good point of entry. ...
